25+ years ago, the swimsuit addition was a socially-acceptable way to get your soft porn. It wasn't much, but there wasn't all that much competition, either.

Now, SI has downgraded their offering (with all "woke" stuff) and the internet offers free and unlimited porn of all the types you can imagine — and a bunch of types you don't want to imagine. Even if SI went back to the yearly non-woke offering and went online and were free, it would still be competing with thousands of other offerings and so, at best, garner a few minutes of attention from its potential audience — hardly a way to sell subscriptions or advertising eyeballs.

Yeah, subscriptions must be a tough sell.
