Just notice today when do my purchases.
"Californians can ring in 2024 by redeeming their empty wine and liquor containers for cash. Starting January 1, California adds wine and liquor sold in bottles, cans, boxes, and pouches to the state’s Beverage Container Recycling Program to cut waste and pollution."
https://calrecycle.ca.gov/2023/12/26/press-release-23-11/

Now they are adding 10 cent per alcohol container like to all other liquid purchases. Boxes-25 cents.
But yes, it calls for redemption, after you finish, you have time and cheap gasoline, you can drive across city, stay in line, and get 10 cents back. Enjoy and obey. Democracy at work.

The problem with boxed and bagged packaging it's NON-recyclable. There is no market to recycle or repurpose the state is charging the consumer to buy it's waste. It's actually double taxation you guys have to get out of that hell hole.

In New York used to be machines located by entry to supermarkets, where patrons were able to redeem deposit by inserting bottles one by one. All suddenly was removed, but deposit stay.
