Yeah, he seems to have been pretty normal earlier in life. Probably he was overmedicated and started a downward spiral.

But we can't separate this from the wider culture. I don't remember people immolating themselves over politics much before TDS and the woke era.

I don't seem to recall self-immolation over Donald Trump really being a thing in the wider culture. Maybe I just missed it 🙄.

People can only remember what the media decides to report. During the Vietnam war, we were discovering nationally how much our government lied, and how corrupt it was. We had the Committee to Investigate the FBI, bunch of a people broke into the FBI offices and the result was the Church Committee in 1975, years later. In that was revealed Operation Mockingbird (media infiltration by the FBI), and Operation CoIntel Pro. Nothing changed with the investigation the FBI did not reform. All the programs were continued.

We're in a similar position today with Ukraine. Ukraine cannot win, but we prolong it - just like Vietnam, we could not win and knew it, but continued it anyhow. I wonder if we're not rhyming with the 1960's now.

The media will just get to work disparaging you as insane, a white nationalist, whatever, and tell the entire country "don't be like him, he was CRAZY", and they'd believe it. They'd also likely make an example out of you to discourage anybody else. Look at what they are doing to Julian Assange. I've seen so many people silently silenced from being murdered in a "suicide" to being thrown out of the banking system and being hounded out of the country.

I don't dismiss people just because our media calls them "crazy". "Uncle Ted" was called crazy, maybe he was, but he talked a lot of sense. I can relate at my age. Our society is really insane, and if you doubt that, we just went through a pandemic and almost everybody I live among, agree. They're insane. Sanity is a minority position, realizing this is depressing and disconnecting.
