Democrat Rep Henry Cuellar Indicted on Conspiracy and Bribery Charges by DOJ
Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) has just been indicted on conspiracy and bribery charges by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
Cuellar’s wife has also been indicted in an investigation connected to $600,000 in bribes they accepted from an Azerbaijan-based energy company and a bank in Mexico to advance the former Soviet republic’s interests in the U.S.
Federal law enforcement raided Cuellar’s house and office in 2022 as part of an investigation into a group of U.S. businessmen, and their ties to the country.
Cuellar was moving to a very closed borders position, I heard.
Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) has revealed that he’s preparing to work with President Donald Trump and his incoming administration on their plans to secure the border and deport illegal aliens.
Cuellar said he believes he can find “common ground” with Trump and his border czar Tom Homan.
The congressman, whose district borders Mexico, argued on behalf of working with Homan and the Trump administration.
It comes as Cuellar’s fellow Democrats prepare to openly defy his support for mass deportations.
Although Cuellar said he would like to see more details on border policy, he emphasized there are already plenty of things that can be done right now.
“We can deport people quickly under Title A, we can do ‘stay in Mexico,’ we can do so many things on policies that can work right away,” Cuellar said.
“In fact, today, I was communicating with Tom, and we talked about getting together sometime when I get back to D.C. in the next week or so, and I think we can find a lot of common ground.”
