PetSmart becomes latest company to face backlash over Pride merchandise



Another brand-name company is facing backlash over LGBTQ merchandise and promotions.

Some social media users recently aimed their ire at PetSmart for boasting about its all-new “You Are Loved” collection of 2023 Pride-themed clothing, toys and other items for pet owners’ four-legged friends.

The collection, unveiled just ahead of June’s Pride Month, includes rainbow-hued items such as dog bikinis, butterfly cat leashes and reptile cape costumes.

Target Corporation's Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Keira Fernandez, has called on "White women" to take an active role in combating systemic racism in America.

Fernandez highlighted the role of "White women" in calling out "transgressions" and using their voices to support women of color in the workplace. She singled out a White person present in the panel discussion, stating that her "ability to properly pronounce words, punctual attendance record, and her native intelligence", on the basis of her race, would be given more weight in the workplace. Fernandez acknowledged the systemic history that led to the current state of affairs and emphasized the need to remove barriers to create a more equitable workplace.

Target in free fall: Retail giant’s market value plunges by $13billion as shares drop by another 2.14% for the ninth consecutive day as chain scrambles to recover from backlash against Pride ‘tuck-friendly’ swimwear range

Retail giant Target's market value plummeted on Wednesday by $13 billion as shares dropped by for the ninth consecutive day by a further 2.14 percent.

It comes as the chain seeks to recover from backlash against its female swimwear range which gives adult wearers the option to 'tuck' male genitalia.

The company's market value had been $74 billion - with shares trading at $160.96 - as of May 17. But stock fell later that week when it made 'adjustments' to its Pride merchandising plans, including removing displays 'that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior' at some of its stores, said CEO Brian Cornell in a statement last week.

Some Southern stores were forced to move merchandise - many of which were designed by Erik Carnell, a transgender man and self-proclaimed Satanist - to the back of stores.

It was done to avoid a 'Bud Light situation' - a disastrous marketing decision to promote Bud Light's beer with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney - following a consumer boycott of its Pride Month items.

Carnell - a British designer whose slogans include 'Satan loves pronouns' - introduced a collection featuring bags and similar paraphernalia as well as a handful of other items, which were pulled by Target.

Carnell said his designs - which are printed on pins, stickers and T-shirts - have been labeled 'Satanic' - but were not those being sold in Target as part of Pride month.

Companies like Target that launch products and campaigns for Pride Month seek to profit from LGBTQ people but fail to stand by them when challenges arise, Carnell said.

'It's a very dangerous precedent to set, that if people just get riled up enough about the products that you're selling, you can completely distance yourself from the LGBT community, when and if it's convenient,' said Carnell.

'If you're going to take a stance and say that you care about the LGBT community, you need to stand by that regardless.'

In tandem, LGBTQIA+ communities slammed the retailer, as did governor Gavin Newsom, who accused Target of 'systematically attacking' the gay community.

Dallas City Council to City Employees: Use Preferred Pronouns or Risk Termination

The Dallas Express reports:

The City of Dallas lists “refusing to respect an employee’s gender identity by intentionally referring to an employee by a name or by pronouns that do not correspond to the employee’s gender identity” as a form of discrimination and harassment.

The transitioning employee’s manager is required to police pronoun usage, “ensuring that other employees in the workplace adjust to using the new name and pronoun(s) as soon as possible.”

If anyone refuses to use the preferred non-biological pronouns for any reason, the offending person “will be investigated” and “may be disciplined up to and including termination.”

Furthermore, the transitioning employee has the opportunity to dictate how offending employees will be treated by management.

$27 Billion Wiped from TranAnheuser-Busch as Market Value Plunges Further amid Bud Light Boycott

Anheuser-Busch has now seen a staggering $27 billion dollars wiped from its market value after efforts to turn its beer brand Bud Light “woke” backfired.

The beermaker has been hit with devastating boycotts after Bud Light partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for an ad campaign.

Since the Mulvaney campaign launched on April 1, Anheuser-Busch had lost about $27 billion by the end of May.

According to Dow Jones Market Data Group, the company had a $134.55 billion value as of March 31 before it plunged to $107.44 billion by the end of May.

The company’s stock plummeted 19.98% from its high in March.

That 20% drop enters the zone of a bear market.

Bump Williams Consulting estimates that Bud Light sales revenues have dropped 25.7% for the week ending May 20, compared to the same week in 2022.

On April 1, Mulvaney, a man who “identifies” as a “woman,” posted a video to his 1.8 million followers on Instagram.

In a video promoting his partnership with Bud Light, Mulvaney drank cans of beer with an image of his face on the side.

“This month I celebrated my day 365 of womanhood, and Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever, a can with my face on it,” Mulvaney said.

The “woke” campaign triggered an immediate and sustained backlash.

Jaw Dropping Stats – Reports of Bud Light Memorial Day Sales Dropping -60% as Brand Boycott Continues

Memorial Day customarily kicks off summer and the beer beverage industry generally looks forward to the enhanced sales that come from summer. However, if the recently published reports of Anheuser-Busch sales are accurate, which includes a stunning 60% sales drop during the holiday, the brand position of Bud Light is in freefall.

While the impacts do have a regional trend based on consumer boycotts and patterns, when the Daily Mail reports, “numbers are suffering primarily due to a decline in Bud Light sales that reached as high as a 60 percent drop off over the week that ended on Memorial Day,” we can be certain the executive offices of A/B are watching closely. The feedback from wholesalers and distributors to the parent company must be something beyond alarm.

Worse still, the forward-looking data trend doesn’t offer any hope. Things are getting worse for the parent company.

(Daily Mail) – […] For the week ending May 20, Bud Light sales across the US fell nearly 26 percent compared to the same period last year. For the week ending May 6, in-store sales plummeted 23.6 percent. And the week before that, ending April 29, sales dropped by 23.3 percent.

This follows declines in sales for the week ending April 22, which saw a 21.4 percent decline. Seven days earlier, the dip has been 17 percent, according to NielsenIQ data provided to Dailymail.com by Bump Williams Consultancy.

The data – showing that US sales of Bud Light are dropping by as much as 20 percent each week – is being uniformly viewed by industry experts as a negative trend that may not reverse itself anytime soon.

It is safe to say the Bud Light brand is now firmly connected to the image of transgender ideology. Philadelphia LGBTQI+ Activist Kendall Stevens Charged with Rape of Minors



Kendall Stephens, a prominent LGBTQI+ activist in Philadelphia, has been charged with raping two minors among other alleged offenses.

Stephens, 37, reportedly had a preliminary arraignment in Philadelphia Municipal Court on Monday after being arrested and charged, according to CBS Philadelphia. Police said the alleged incidents happened in September.

“Court documents show Stephens was charged with rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with minors, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors, indecent assault against people less than 13 years of age, obscenity to minors and endangering the welfare of children,” noted the outlet.

Stephens, a black transgender woman, a man presenting himself as a woman, rose to prominence in the Philadelphia activist scene back in 2020 after suffering a hate crime inside his home. The assailant, Tymesha Wearing, was convicted this past February for “aggravated assault and conspiracy for her role in the home invasion and group assault” of Stephens. Wearing was also convicted of hate crimes.

Stephens advocated for more protection of LGBTQI+ people in the city.

Target Will Only Sell Pride Merchandise Online and in ‘Select Stores’ After Last Year’s Backlash

Last June, Target faced a major boycott for offering Pride-themed products from a Satanic designer with violent messaging and “tuck-friendly” women’s bathing suits.

In a press release on their website, Target said they will offer “a collection of products including adult apparel and home and food and beverage items, curated based on consumer feedback.”

“The collection will be available on Target.com and in select stores, based on historical sales performance,” the press release continued.

The retail giant noted that it continues to support LGBTQIA+ organizations year-round, including Human Rights Campaign, Family Equality, and more.

In July 2023, seven Republican Attorney Generals sent a letter to Target warning that their Pride month displays may have violated state laws that “protect children from harmful content meant to sexualize them and prohibit gender transitions of children.”

“This year, Target reportedly promoted and sold products in our states that included, among other products, LGBT-themed onesies, bibs, and overalls, t-shirts labeled ‘Girls Gays Theys;’ ‘Pride Adult Drag Queen Katya’ (which depicts a male dressed in female ‘drag’); and girls’ swimsuits with ‘tuck-friendly construction’ and ‘extra crotch coverage’ for male genitalia,” the letter said. “Target also included merchandise by the self-declared ‘Satanist-Inspired’ brand Abprallen, which is known for designs that glorify violence. These designs include the phrases ‘We Bash Back’ with a heart-shaped mace in the trans-flag colors, ‘Transphobe Collector’ with a skull, and ‘Homophobe Headrest’ with skulls beside a pastel guillotine. Target also sold products with antiChristian designs, such as pentagrams, horned skulls, and other Satanic products. One such design included the phrase ‘Satan Respects Pronouns’ with a horned ram representing Baphomet—a half-human, half-animal, hermaphrodite worshiped by the occult.”

After news of Target’s extremist Pride campaign went viral, a conservative boycott caused the company’s stock prices to plummet by 16 percent.

The Target boycott began shortly after Bud Light was hit with one for partnering with transgender influencer and activist Dylan Mulvaney.

Target close to us, used to have a 10 registers opened, and lines about 20 people deep in each queue. I hated going to Target for that reason.
It would take an hour just to go through the checkout line.
In the few times I have gone to Target in the last year. There was only about two or three lines opened, and at least one of them have no one in line.
