Patrick is not a fan of Telegram because they tap into your telephone number/cell phone. Besides, what we have here with some semblance of crowd control seems to work well enough without the Telegram cacophony, gold bugs, sales people, 5G talismans, random assorted trolls, Mockingbird wedgies, fake identity peddlers, hallucinating freaks-in-a-sheet and panic button Karens.

Telegram is great for hobbies, trips and special interest non-political chat, though, for groups with cell phones. I still keep up with the earth watchers from my trip last year.

alright, just an idea. Anyone know of other chats with like-minded to this site that they want to share?

@tanked I do appreciate the idea, but like Ceffer said, I'm not a fan of telegram because it requires a phone number, giving people who want to shut you up or kill you a super-easy way to track down your exact location at all times, as well as everyone you were ever physically near. Email is much more private, aside from Gmail, which is another privacy disaster.

I'm sure they can find me, but I don't want them to so easily be able to find you.

Hey, maybe it's now possible to use Telegram without giving a phone number or using app stores. Sounds like https://web.telegram.org/ allows iPhone users to install a "Progressive Web App" (PWA) which is really just a web pages with an icon.



Doesn't work on my iPhone but then my phone is really old and I make a point of never upgrading anything.
