Wear blackface and an Afro this week to show support.

I have it off too… to be entirely honest, I don’t fully know what it is

It's also Father's Day

General Order #3 Posted on the door of the Colored Church (present-day Reedy Chapel) in Galveston Texas on June 19, 1865

The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves. The Freed-men are advised to remain at their present homes, and work for wages. They are in-formed that they will not be allowed to collect at military posts; and that they will not be supported in idleness either there or elsewhere.
by order of Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger
signed F.W. Emery Major A.A. Genl

Here's the flag with an explanation of the elements.

The white star in the center of the flag has a dual meaning, Haith said.
For one, it represents Texas, the Lone Star State. It was in Galveston in 1865 where Union soldiers informed the country's last remaining enslaved people that, under the Emancipation Proclamation issued two years earlier, they were free.
But the star also goes beyond Texas, representing the freedom of African Americans in all 50 states.
The bursting outline On the Juneteenth flag, this represents a new beginning for the African Americans of Galveston and throughout the land.
The curve that extends across the width of the flag represents a new horizon: the opportunities and promise that lay ahead for black Americans.
The red, white and blue represents the American flag, a reminder that slaves and their descendants were and are Americans.
June 19, 1865, represents the day that enslaved black people in Galveston, Texas, became Americans under the law.
And while African Americans today are still fighting for equality and justice, Haith said those colors symbolize the continuous commitment of people in the United States to do better -- and to live up to the American ideal of liberty and justice for all.

Latest unemployment figures, Q1 2022

Struck me given the edict talks about "not being supported in idleness"

And federal employees all get a day off... go figure.

It already disappeared from media.

You object to taking the day off to celebrate the execution of Julius and Ethyl Rosenberg?

I predict that in the next few years 4th of July will be deemed ‘problematic’ and Juneteenth will take its place.
The colonialist, white centric, non-inclusive celebrations of Main Street 4th of July parades will be replaced by Sideshows on MLK Blvd’s nationwide.
Gunfire, obviously, will replace tired old fireworks.

In proper celebration of Juneteenth, I did absolutely nothing today, other than try (and fail) to get really drunk.

Why the schools were off today? Another dumass token holiday during subversive fag and tranny month. They deserve each other.

Shouldn't the schools be closed for summer vacaysh anyway?

Some calendars mark today and Friday as well! It indicates some people got plenty of free time!

Once again our Juneteenth festivities we're ruined by avarice and gluttony.
We had a protest and riot planned, to show our disdain for the man that has been keeping our people down for so long.
But after the huge banquet shindig we had catered, everyone was too stuffed to pitch a wang dang doodle. So it soon quickly wound down, as everyone went home to take a nap. Next year I think we riot first then feast.

I guess, May 31st? They were still clogging traffic last week for something. Maybe graduation stuff.

Interesting. A 50-star US Flag with cars and uniform that look early 1950s. The 48-star flag of that era does not have staggered rows of 6 and 5 stars, but instead has the same number of stars in each row (8).

And I don't think they had rolling pilot bags, either.

That roller bag is a bit out of place.
And what is up with the flag monkey on the sidewalk?

Didn't even notice that. Non-zoomed version can look like a lawn gnome or something.
