"War Before Civilization" is an absolute must read. As well as Napoleon Chagnon's "Noble Savages: My Life Among Two Dangerous Tribes – The Yanomamö and the Anthropologists". The latter talks about his actual painstaking tracking of geneaology among the Yanomano, the living conditions, and the absolute Rage Character Assassinations the Leftists at the Amer Anthro Assoc leveled at him in cahoots with an "Independent Journalist" (Patrick Tierney) for blowing up their precious "Peaceful Primitives, let's be like them" ideas. The Tasaday "Tribe" is a hoot, basically a Marcos crony paid villagers to pretend to live a Stone Age life for the sake of extorting big money out of a handful of VIP tourists, and as a land grab from him and Marcos.
