Local KCCI-Des Moines ran a story yesterday headlined, “Man who admitted damaging Satanic Temple display at Iowa Statehouse charged with hate crime.”

In case you missed it, the Satanic Temple, based in Salem, Massachusetts, took advantage of Iowa law, followed the rules, and erected a demonic papier-mâché Baphomet ‘statue’ in Iowa’s Capitol Building for Christmas. Michael Cassidy, a man of action and combat veteran, went to the Capitol, knocked down the revolting display, and promptly surrendered to nearby police officers. The first-time nonviolent offender was properly charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor mischief and released.

On Friday, Michael’s lawyers’ nerveless fingers dropped the phone, stunned to discover that Iowa prosecutors opened an “investigation” and boosted Michael’s charges to much more serious third-degree felony mischief, under an Iowa hate crimes law allowing enhancement when there’s any “violation of individual rights.”

Hey. Come on now. We’re talking about a serious, out-of-control criminal element that threatens the very fabric of society: hate crimes conducted against Satanic statues. May Beelzebub bless those diligent Iowa prosecutors for holding the line! This wasn’t a victimless crime, as though he were here illegally and demonically attacked some cops in Times Square or anything:




I’m totally sure the fiendish undocumented migrants will show up for their court hearings. Sure, that will happen. I’d bet Nancy Pelosi’s stock portfolio on it.

What? You think Luciferian people who attack cops in mobs are more dangerous than a master-level criminal white guy with no record who deliberately pushed over a papier-mâché statue? Listen, we need to reserve the resources of our legal system for handling real criminals, people who represent a danger to the community, not cop-attacking migrants with criminal records but folks who protested vaccine mandates:




In case that lady isn’t sufficiently scary, what about the lawless criminals who prayed in a building containing an abortion clinic and refused to leave when the clinic staff asked them, and who are now getting what they deserve on federal hate crimes charges, which apparently is up to 11 years in federal prison and a $260,000 fine — each:

Thank goodness the Blue States are cracking down on this epidemic of quiet conservative protest! Who knows where this totally-peaceful protesting could lead? Probably to a civil war or something, which might be exactly what they get if they keep the two-tiered justice system running for much longer.

Breitbart ran the remarkable, only-in-2024 story under the headline, “Police: Maryland High School Athletic Director Arrested for Framing Principal as Racist Using AI.”




What happened was in December and January, Pikesville Athletic Director Dazhon “D.J.” Darien searched the internet for AI tools. Investigators later figured out the unclever educator used the tools to make a fake vocal recording using school computers. He took a voice sample from Principal Eric Eiswert and made a fake recording of Eric ranting in a highly-offensive racist and antisemitic manner.

D.J. then emailed the fake recording — using his own school email account — to another teacher, Shaena Ravenell, who sent it to media and the NAACP.

When the recording same out, the Baltimore school district promptly fired Principal Eiswert, who was subjected to intense public backlash, death threats, and so on. To this day, Eric has police guarding his home due to the harassment and threats against his family. The entire school was upended in controversy. PHS had to increase its police presence on campus to keep order.

But after an investigation, on Wednesday police issued a warrant for D.J.’s arrest. D.J. tried to flee, but he was caught Thursday morning at BWI Airport while trying to board a flight to Houston. Bizarrely, the reason D.J. was caught was because he was trying to check his gun, and airport security ran a routine search and saw the outstanding warrant.

“We now have conclusive evidence that the recording was not authentic,” Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough announced during a Thursday press briefing. “It’s been determined the recording was generated through the use of artificial intelligence technology.” ...

And the best news is that, when digital evidence goes out the window, it will seriously hamstring the surveillance state.

This is how it works: Somebody, usually a student, will discover allegedly racist graffiti somewhere, or she (it is very often a she) will claim to have been racially insulted, or something else of this nature. The great Diversity Brigade will then spring into action. Everyone will get emails from obscure deanlets deeply regretting the persistent racism that is oppressing our campus. Students will protest and demand more diversity, more inclusion and more equity. This can go on for days or even weeks. Sometimes the press will show up and you’ll find yourself dodging random reporters on the way to teach class. Even if the press never come, the entire incident becomes the occasion for long and tedious lectures directed at the undiverse, who must hear yet again, and at great length, all about their unwarranted privilege and their deeply unconscious bias. Eventually the whole circus winds down, usually after the powers that be agree to hire more diversity, inclusion and equity administrators, or to improve funding for whatever diversity, inclusion and equity initiative happens to be the flavour of the month.

After all of that whining, crying and remonstrating, and after the press have departed and the campus has returned to the usual routine of teaching and exams (from which protests always promise welcome relief), some inconvenient facts invariably come to light. It will turn out, for example, that the allegedly racist graffiti was actually found on the underside of an old desk and that it may have been scrawled there 40 years ago for all we know. Or you will hear that nobody witnessed the grievous racial insults directed against our student diversity activist and so the entire incident remains unconfirmed. Not infrequently – I would say about a third of the time – the racially insulted student will turn out to have invented the entire episode or to have scrawled the graffiti herself.

In all my years observing this perennial farce, I never once encountered a genuinely unambiguous, well-documented and clearly confirmed Racial Bias Incident at all. Perhaps they exist, but I have certainly never seen one. While each and every Racial Bias Incident is the occasion for the schoolmarms to draw broad and wide ranging conclusions about all of our racism, for some reason the repeated collapse of bias incident narratives is never the occasion for the converse lesson, that perhaps racism and bias incidents are not really the problem they have been built up to be. Racism, alas, is in very high demand but always extremely short supply. ...

Yesterday, our sacred racial bias narrative suffered even further decay. It emerged that nobody had been kicked at all. Rather, as our eight year-old Ghanaian victim had attempted to ride her scooter past our fearsome racist antagonist, he “apparently blocked the girl’s path with his outstretched leg and hit her with the tip of his foot.” The girl then ran crying to her parents and there ensued the shouting, pushing, jumping and screaming we see in the video footage linked above. Oh, and our perpetrator? He turns out to be … eleven years old.

Yes, for days our highest politicians and our leading newspapers have been hyperventilating about a minor fight between two children.
