I don't think the Founding Fathers anticipated corporate control over government.

As it is, global corporations and a few very rich individuals fund "think tanks" to write bills in their own favor, submit the bills to Congress, and get them passed into law by funding or defunding Congressional campaigns, according to the obedience of the Congressmen. Offers of lucrative future employment at those corporations for Congressmen and their families work as bribes as well.

Nor do the corporations even need to write laws when they have control over unelected bureaucrats who can make "rules" with the effect of law.

What would an effective response to this kind of corruption be?

One idea is to let the public vote to revoke corporate charters for extremely evil corporations like Pfizer.
It would also help to ban Congressmen from insider trading like Pelosi's.

And:
Term limits.
Greater public involvement in government.
Smaller government.

What else? How to implement when the money is mostly on the side of corruption? What overcomes money? Public unity and patriotism I suppose.

Law enforcement. Corruption, like any other crime, can't be eliminated, just kept down. Just like there is no inpenetratable armor or unstoppable projectile, there is no silver bullet for corruption.

well biblical answer is Jesus, but getting enough people to follow Christ is challenging in itself. I think in practical terms, best we can hope for in short term is keeping it down.

i know out here in idaho accountability removes corruption. small towns, people know each other. try stealing and you get ran out of town fast. but bigger anything gets, corrupt it becomes.
