I did not see a post about the pipeline fire south of Houston. But yeah, I apologize for reviving this La Porte (California) post about this La Porte, Texas pipeline disaster.

So it was a medical emergency of the SUV driver that caused this ?

Seems like it had to be that intentional for them to veer off, continue to go through the fence and hit the pipeline hard and fast enough to cause damage.

And there were no barriers around the pipeline like the valve ?

7 hours ago — Officials say a pipeline fire in Deer Park that jumped Spencer Highway and spread to La Porte on Monday could continue burning into Tuesday.

The update comes after Deer Park police said that an SUV hit an above-ground pipeline valve. Preliminary reports also suggests no terroristic activity and that it was an isolated incident, police added.

According to police, the SUV drove through a fence on the west side of a nearby Walmart parking lot in the 9000 block of Spencer Highway. The vehicle entered the adjacent pipeline right-of-way and hit the valve.
