I remember all the Polock jokes we used to say when I was a kid. Dunno why we picked on the Poles but it was the thing to do.

There was one about a Polish sub and a screen door.

This sub sank at the harbor. Probably a dumb contractor without proper oversight and procedures. That's a two year setback to get that sub operational. The Chinese have operated subs for years. The first were Russian resales/trades of used Foxtrots, etc. The Chinese made their own knockoffs later. These were, at best, "export versions" without all the Russian sonar and quiet tech.

The Russians also did this for Saddam's Revolutionary guard tanks. I verified this in person at a Tank Museum that used to be in NorCal. The T-72 was captured nearly intact after a shaped charge penetrated the rear grille into the engine compartment. I levered myself into the turret and saw hand-cranks for manual turret traverse!!

This is the only one we've heard about. Wouldn't be shocked if more have sank out at sea in operation that we've never heard of and just assume they're still functioning. This is from a country that floated balloons over the US. Couldn't you just spy with a passenger jet flying to Chicago?

I'm good with most Asians, but the Chinese I've met I'm kind of racist in that realm. There's something off with them. At least the ones with the money to come to the states. America is my culture. You don't get up in my face when talking to me. It's not normal in most of the world. I know Patrick doesn't like google and I'm sure there are other mapping options, but come on. You're supposed the be the rich Chinese. I can get to Jackson, WY from where I live with no GPS and find my way in no problem. They're just not intelligent. Google will translate the map to Chinese or Mandarin or whatever it is. You can speak English and get in my face 6" away. I was shocked. They're simple idiots.

Hand-crank is a backup.
