Here is the RINO Tax Foundation looking to protect offshoring US Industries by lying about the tariffs.

As a reminder, the US experienced explosive economic growth from it's foundation until well after WW2 thanks to big, beautiful Tariffs. The Founding Fathers endorsed Tariffs. The only debate was whether it should be 20% or 35%.

Like CCP Democracy and reciprocal acts of free trade, all of the unilateral one-sided "Free Trade" the US offers trade "partners" has failed to result in ANY substantial reductions in "partners" big fat tariffs on US exports to them after DECADES.

We tried "Free Trade" for almost 40 years now, and it's an unmitigated failure with only token reciprocity.

There is no need to "Test" or "Try for another 2 generations". Free Trade has failed.

Start at 25%.

For over 100 years, the USA had no taxes except: 1. tariffs on imports 2. tobacco tax 3. alcohol tax

Offshoring hurts American workers and lowers our standard of living; hiring illegals to work in the USA is another form of offshoring, which also hurts American workers and lowers our standard of living.

Stupid people say "Lettuce would cost 10 dollars a head without illegals."
For residents of California, after taxes, it probably actually does, but they don't see it on the price at Safeway.

The objection to tariffs is motivated by the desire to avoid paying US wages so that business owners can make higher profits at the expense of poor and middle class Americans.

It's the same reason those business owners also want unlimited illegal immigration.

And Trump has somehow been the only politician who looks immune to their lobbying.
