Ha, hate to say it but Farmers is right on this one. The Israeli land grab is obvious to most outside our media bubble. We know CIA funded ISIS in Syria under Obama, and used them to destabilize (now wreck) Syria. ISIS then as now remained neutral toward Israel. ‘They may be terrorists, but they’re our terrorists,’ I suppose is the thinking. Remember when saying “radical Islamic terrorism” became taboo during Obama’s second term? It coincides nicely with our funding of these lunatics.

A nice Middle East hack: when something doesn’t make sense (wtf are we doing in Syria? for ex), look to Israel’s interests, both stated and implicit. Iraq, Libya, now Syria and Iran make more sense as hostile dictator removal, on behalf of Israel, with “rebuilding” money going to the politically-connected. If the Israeli explanation fails, we have runner’s up in foreign policy motivations, like weakening Russia or isolating China. Those haven’t succeeded much lately, though.
