It seems to me the main problem with getting Democrats on board has nothing to do with disagreement with Trump. The power of the purse and reelection support (by Jeffries) are the Damocles sword that keep them in line.

The Democrat party has always been in favor of larger government, more welfare, more freebies, more race based bullshit since I can remember.
Disclosure: I can remember Kennedy, but I remember LBJ much more clearly.
I remember clearly seeing LBJ on TV making a speech to the country.
"I'm declaring a war on poverty in the United States!"
How do you think this has worked out?

True the Democrats have always been crap, but some of them over the years have been at least attentive to the needs of the voters.
Trump could set the midterm and next Presidential races to be about anti Marxist Democrats. They do exist my father was a stanch Democrat but loathed Liberals, Socialist, Commies and Progressives. He always warned they were a slippery slope to communism.
That is why way back in 2007, I was on Patnet then warning of the impending Communist take over of the Democrat party. 90% of every Patnetter here thought I was just being bombastic and spouting off hyperbole. The only people who believed me then were the Liberals and Commie Democrats that were posting here then. They tried like hell to shut me up and not spill the beans, the whole time I forebode what Obama was going to usher in.
My Father thought the Democrat party could stand on it's own as the party for the working people. He was very pro Union though, go figure. I view Unions as the biggest commie threat to America. Even if we weeded the commies out of our Government and made it very uncomfortable for Democrats in power to foster Marxist ideas in Bills they sponsor. As long as Unions the way they have historically been in America and their demand for every member to support the Democrat party no matter what. Unions in this country will always be the Communist incubators.
But yeah Trump needs to wag the dog to send the Marxist commies into the dust bin of History and get the Democrat voters back square with the house.

He should start a movement with RFK Jr. as the catalyst to restore the once great Democrat party. Return to the party of Kennedy rather than the party of Marxists. That would put the Democrats in an uncomfortable position they have never felts since they realized Hillary Clinton's campaign was going sideways and off the rails. They knew she was losing 2016, the media and the DNC was not surprised. They had to feign being surprised and blind sided by it, or they would have been seen as a loser party by their base. But by commiserating with the butt hurt voters, and playing shocked and surprised. They maintained the only commonality they had with their base. As they have zero in common with their base. Other than they know how to manipulate them into breaking federal laws and trouncing the Constitution. Which does dick all for their misguided base. As they finally realized in 2024.
