I recall what former Rep. Barbara Jordan (D) said about her experience with the Israeli lobby:

She said that each Member of Congress received a 'pledge card' from AIPAC in which the Member was asked to fill out, sign and return. It asked a few questions which basically boiled down to the Member agreeing to support Israel in all future legislative and or expenditures. If the Member refused to pledge their undying support for Israel, Jordan claimed that AIPAC would target the Member in the upcoming primary by supporting, with A LOT of money, the opposition candidate. That is exactly what happened to Jordan. She refused to sign, and although she was popular in her district, AIPAC saw to it the she would be defeated in the Primary, which she was.

Jordan later claimed that ALL Members of Congress (who have to run every two years) were well aware of the incredible power that AIPAC and other pro-Israeli lobbies yield in Washington, and as a result, were frightened of that power.

Sounds an awful lot like election interference by a foreign government to me. Of course it is, but nothing will ever come of it.

By the way, I would have opposed Jordan, who died in 1996, on practically every other issue that she stood upon, but on this one, IMO, she was 100% correct.

She was a Communist LGBTQ through and through and was so open about having her title and finances shared with "Partner" Nancy her aides warned her against blabbing about it in interviews, along with her long Feminist whinges against Marriage as "Subservience". It's much more likely she resigned as somebody had all the dirt on her for the payola she got for endorsing the CRA; and she is unbelievably buried in the Texas State Cemetary as a "Patriot" close to Stephen Austin.

Also a reminder if foreign aid has almost nothing to do with being $37T in Debt.

We have no troops to speak of in Israel, except for a handful of signals/intel guys on an airbase there. Literal handful.

Israel regularly offers troops for US conflicts and we say "NO"

It's fun to compare the massive Euro Subsidy of US defence that costs at least $100B/year via NATO to the few billion to Israel.

Or the Marshall Plan, never paid back, trillions of modern dollars to Europe, which immediately imposed the Chicken tax and a multitude of tariffs on US Goods to say "Thanks for liberating Western Europe"
