I suspect the Fed is behind much of the stories about reconsidering mortgage interest deduction. (If they were really serious about it, they would stop deductions on interest for second (and third…) homes. I think this is basically a made up story, trying to inject a little caution into potential homebuyers who have trouble reading the writing on the wall.

"No, I excercise…"

Please Jack, tell us all about it.

"Having children KILLED my metabolism."

It's really not fair, is it? It didn't happen to me until the second child, but it did happen.

Take an extra shot for me. I have no liquor or Nyquil in the house. Poor me.

158   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:05pm

Oh, a serious answer from JAck. I wasn't expectign that.

159   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:07pm

So THAT explains all those female rages we've had... :-P

160   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:08pm

I think I was born to be a construction worker or something. I actually love all that physical labor stuff. Digging holes, hammering things. Sounds like fun, Jack.

161   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:10pm

I'm watching As Good As It Gets, and here's a hilarious line from Nicholson's character: "I think people who talk in metaphors ought to shampoo my crotch." I never noticed that before.

162   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:13pm

Is he? I thought he was a literary author.

163   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:15pm

"I remember laughing so much watching that movie that I missed a lot of lines."

I'm a sap. I mostly remember crying my way through it.

164   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:15pm

You went vertical again!

165   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:16pm

Or was that your, uh, shaft?

166   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:17pm

LOL, "LUV" You're starting to sound like a teenager girl.

167   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:18pm

I haven't been watching the movie closely. Wouldn't want to risk Jack's wrath.

168   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:19pm

Vertical cave part. Now THAT's a new euphemism!

169   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:20pm

Admit it, we're boring you SQT.

But really, hope you're feeling better soon. Get some rest! Jack also needs rest, don't you, Jack?

170   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:22pm

Offend whom?

171   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:22pm

Night SQT!

172   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:25pm

Oh I just had to scroll way back to figure out what question you were talking about.

173   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:25pm

Nice, Jack. Very nice. That's all there is, huh? So predictable.

174   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:26pm

Heh.

175   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:27pm

LOL, and huh?

176   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:29pm

Oh noooo the echooooo.

177   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:29pm

Hitting the bong?

178   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:30pm

OR an altered state of exhaustion?

179   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:31pm

Yeah it's one of those nights isn't it?

180   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:32pm

LOL

181   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:32pm

I need to stop with the LOL. It's starting to sound way forced.

182   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:33pm

At least here in Pigalle we don't have to stare in horror at our mistakes before they are published.

183   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:34pm

Yes, I used to finish all my books after a week or two of sleep deprivation, then staying up all day and night drinking caffeine and by the time I finished I'd be so wired I couldn't sleep no matter what.

Amazingly my last two books I didn't do that.

184   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:36pm

Pigalle is forgiving that way. And hey, I was just trying to entertain you with the fluff. Sorry if it was a little TOO entertaining.

185   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:36pm

Were they better? Hmmm. I think everything I write is utter and complete garbage, so I'm probably not the person to ask.

186   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:38pm

But my editor was pretty complimentary (which is rare) on the first one I wrote without extreme sleep deprivation, and yeah, it's probably better for my having been well rested. it comes out in March. We shall see. Or not. I haven't gotten her feedback on the other one yet. but will soon.

187   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:40pm

I never look at the top when I'm posting. I actually think that's kind of an odd word. It makes me picture wee little sharp pointy things.

188   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:42pm

"You ARE the person to ask"

I'm the person to ask what?

I had no idea there were symposiums on trash culture. How interesting. Why was I not invited? :-P

189   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:47pm

Oh I just meant that I am a mostly un-talented writer. Not anything else by the garbage comment. Yes, I have to know whatever there is to know to write novels.

190   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:49pm

Ah, of course, anything called a "symposium" would have to take place on a university campus.

191   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:52pm

Well thanks but it's one thing to be able to write a few sentences, quite another to construct a whole book. It's weird I feel compelled to write novels but part of me wishes no one would read them. Isn't that WEIRD?

192   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:54pm

Noooooo. I was joking. I do not want to be invited. There are plenty of popular fiction writers in that area, who are not me.

193   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 4:54pm

But let's don't talk about ME!

194   Jamie   2005 Nov 9, 5:03pm

Okay, so it's not weird. OR maybe mutual weirdness, which is cool.
