I believe in 50% minimum down payment along with only 10 year maximum mortgage. I believe interest rates should also rise to 25% to deter people from borrowing & paying in cash.
Better yet - make mortgages illegal! Cash only...

It is abundantly clear - the mortgage industry has become so deeply and irredeemably criminalized, the only remedial course is to put a bullet into it. The cost of putting away every Realtor® and every mortgage broker for an appropriate stretch - 20 to life - in a supermax is too expensive to ponder.
The other, more cost effective, remedial course is to simply outlaw mortgage banking.
It’s cash or fuck you! The only way we can save America!

That would be nice. Problem is, the poor of this country would revolt when they realize they could never afford anything till they're about to retire. Not to mention the economy is almost entirely based on keeping people stuck in debt.
