Here's your chance to rent and foot someone's mortgage payment.

Someone overpaid this house and now wants $4000 rent per month. That means the person probably shelled out $1 million. This has a terrible display of pictures I've ever seen on a house.

* Beautiful 2-level house with 2800+ sq. ft.
* Available July 1st
* Asking for 1-year lease, $4000/month

Compared to buying that house 4K/mth is a steal. Three months rent is needed just to cover the property taxes. Then you have HOA, insurance, upkeep, mortgage, future depreciation, etc. etc. I'd rent two like these before buying even one. ;)

man, people in flyover must constantly have sticker shock when they see the rents/prices here.

pretty much same prices in LA LA land also - unless u want to live in spanish ghetto. Vegas is lookin better every year.

That looks to be the Windmere area where homes are selling for $700-900K.

A $4000 monthly rent would imply a 4.4 - 5.7% rent to buy ratio. I'm pretty sure that's a bit optimistic for San Ramon, but it's not out of the ballpark.

If you were to purchase that home today with 20% down, you'd have a monthly payment of $2600 - $3400... I guess some folks don't have $140-180K upfront but do want to live in San Ramon badly enough? Somehow my guess is that $4000 rentals in San Ramon aren't hot, but I may be wrong.
