People like to associate themselves as being republican. You see they equate it with being wealthy. It's a status thing and very self defeating IMO.
I'm seriously thinking that Obama is just a stealth Republican. I want:
1. A immediate and complete end to Bush's war in Iraq (Ron Paul is right on this).
2. A national health insurance option. (Ron Paul is utterly insane to think that "charity" will provide health care in any significant way.)
3. Fair capital gains and dividend taxes. Meaning billionaires should pay at least the same % income tax that the upper middle class does, and preferably more, since the vast majority of their income is due to middle class people's work, not their own. (Ron Paul would continue their unfairly low tax rates, so boo for him on this.)

We're out of that battle.

The US public wanted out of SVN too in 1972, but to get our POWs back we also had to agree to pull all our military advisors and air power. This enabled the NVN to walk over the south in 1974-75.
The administration is talking about keeping 3,000 advisors and trainers past the Dec 31, 2011 deadline.
I don't see a problem with that.

It's not our country.
if we're invited to stay, I'm fine with us having a training presence.
One lesson of Vietnam is don't leave things half-finished.
Why oh why would a person treat a dog like a human being and think it's clever to dress them up with glasses...
I love dogs, but treat them like dogs...they'll love you for it.
Like differing religions, seemingly THE MOST INTELLIGENT humans are relied on to make decisions, but vehemently chastise those with any other ideology.

Um, we have good relations with Vietnam today. But we have lousy relations with North Korea which still has its dictator, and we never left South Korea.

Yeah, I get that impression too, but then I think about how the Republicans are sabotaging the economy just to make sure Obama is a one-term president. I wonder what would happen if Obama announced that he is now officially a Republican. How would the rest of the party act? Would they continue to sabotage one of their own?

South Koreans now are much happier than the South Vietnamese now.
The party of the corporations, not the people...
