tonight?

764   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 3:14am

You renegade poets are missing out on new opportunities in poetic form. Don't be restricted by this single little white text box. Think outside the box. Think multiple text boxes!

Think poems that take 5 posts to complete.

"Can of Bud Light."

Just whatever you do, don't actually *drink* that, that...carbonated urine. It's just for pretend.

766   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 3:16am

Poetry, Urk. I don't do poetry. Or at least I haven't tried. Hmmmm. Must think.

NEED 2000 posts!

767   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 3:16am

"…and don’t take that tone with me young lady."

Ooh, Jack's getting all stern and stuff.

768   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 3:17am

"For being the diabolical madwoman that she in fact is. "

Bwaahahahahahaaaaa!

769   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 3:17am

My Halloween greeting:

Boo!

770   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 3:18am

There. Only 600 more posts to go.

Not much of a rhyme, but it added significantly to the thread count which is all that really matters.

We all know the threads with the highest thread counts have maximum quality.

779   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 4:58am

Did see a woman who dressed as a Studio 54 coke whore, she was going to a Halloween wedding. Different!

Lol
Creative costume.

My sugar rush of choice is Twix. Anything with chocolate and a cookie crunch and I am a happy camper.

780   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:03am

Ok, please bear with me, people --I've been gone for a long time.
What's the deal with this 'SPHUH' thing? How/why did a thread named 'Huh?' end up with 1400+ posts in less than 2 weeks. And what's the deal with this Surfer-x/ptiemann Nazi flame war?

781   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:07am

LOL, Harm, welcome back! I believe SPHUH is what happens when you get too many demented minds in one place. Well, no, I take that back. I'm blaming it all on Jack.

Surfer-X is stressed out and depressed due to his missing cat. I don't know how that manifested itself as a Nazi flame war, but I'm sure it's because of Mr. Fuchs. We're all trying to tread carefully. Like cats, I guess you could say.

782   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:08am

Go home Mr Fuchs!

783   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:09am

Thanks, Jamie. Looks like I missed out on the most prolific blog month ever. I expected some new threads and a fair amount of activity, but this is just amazing --I've counted at least 22 threads since I left for New Zealand and thousands of posts.

I’m so out of touch with this blog now, I feel like I just stepped out of a time warp.

Maybe we've all misbehaved because HARM was gone? Maybe he has become the "father figure" here on the blog, and while he was away, we played.

Poor HARM, coming home from his wonderful vacation to find that we've been partying for a month straight. Someone shot out the windows, there's a goat in the bathtub, the cat's missing, skinheads have taken over one room of the house, the sheets have weird stains on them, empty cans of Bud Light are littering the floor, the liquor cabinet has been emptied, and there's bean dip EVERYWHERE.

786   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:19am

I also posted this under the "New Thread" thread, but it looks like this one is getting more play, so here ya go:

Btw, while I was in NZ, I occasinally check the RE section in the local papers (just couldn’t resist). In general, housing there is NOT much cheaper than CA, even considering the currency exchange rate, though due to the lower population density it’s still possible to find relatively affordable beachfront property outside of town on both islands.

Interesting side note: in Queenstown the locals were complaining about foreign speculators coming in buying up property like crazy, which is driving up prices for them. I give you one guess as to where most of these “foreigners” are from  .

787   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:20am

Maybe we should compile a "Best of" post for HARM, a sort of October in review post that will sort through the bean dip and find the highlights of the month that he simply can't go forward without knowing.

788   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:21am

HARM

I have no explainations for anything. Except to say the housing market discussion burnouts have migrated to the "Huh" thread for some comic relief. (we think we're funny anyway)

789   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:22am

"I give you one guess as to where most of these “foreigners” are from"

Ummm, Iowa, right? Those damn Iowans, flush with cash, bloating real estate markets everywhere.

790   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:22am

Actually

What Jamie said.

791   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:22am

LOL - sounds like a premise for a new 'House Party' sequel. Actually, I'm pleased that so many have pitched in and created new threads to ease the burden on Peter P & SactoQt.

Based on recent sales/inventory stats (still catching up), it looks to me like the long ride to the bottom is just getting started.

792   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:24am

About it all being Jack's fault I mean. How do I get this bean dip out of my carpet? And what am I supposed to feed the goat? Oh yeah, the bud cans.....

Brilliant idea! Please 'make it so' number one ;-).

794   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:29am

Just don't feed the goat the bean dip or there will be hell to pay.

HARM, Jack is going to fall to his knees and weep with joy to see the news of your return.

795   Jamie   2005 Oct 31, 5:31am

"Brilliant idea! Please ‘make it so’ number one"

But Captain, I canna possibly get it done before the Borg's arrival. I'll need at least five more hours!

796   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:32am

Just don’t feed the goat the bean dip or there will be hell to pay.

So much for the carpet stains.

I think newsfreak should write the synopsis in haiku form.

797   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:35am

My knees are bloody, but I am so happy about your return, they dont even hurt.

Oh Jack, do you really think you should walk into that one? With this crowd?

798   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:36am

Thanks, Jack --nice to be back (except of course for work, bills & responsibilities).

FYI: CAR has posted a new low in statewide housing affordability: 14%. This matches the same low previously reached in May/June 1988 (on the cusp of the last RE bust): http://tinyurl.com/9qqzd

799   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:38am

HARM

What's the deal with the housing posts? Are you trying to make us behave like responsible bloggers or something?

_shakes head_

What am I going to do with you?

800   HARM   2005 Oct 31, 5:40am

newsfreak,

Does the Pacific NW have a good DataQuick or CAR-style site where you can get all the M-M & Y-Y stats?

801   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:41am

I was just testing you.

Whew. Thought you were losing your touch there for a minute......

802   SQT15   2005 Oct 31, 5:42am

Housing thread? We don't need no stinking housing thread!
