Good news on this front -- 2/3 of New Yorkers support Occupy Wall Street. And why shouldn't they? Not nearly enough banksters have gone to jail, and too many of them are still drawing record bonuses, despite their gross incompetence. If you or I drove a business into the ground like a banksters, we'd get fired with extreme prejudice, but these jerks got rewarded.

Reading some of the comments on yahoo I can tell that our nation is deeply divided, confused, and full of uncertainty. Perfectly matching the stock market volatility.

The sign of the times, and the problems fostered by our large government and it's too big to fail masters.

That's not what the protests are about, that's what most would hope it's about. The truth is, many of the people are there and haven't got a clue as to why. I saw a clips of the Occupy Miami movement, and the spokes person was in designer clothes, and wore designer glasses, the kids in the tents all looked college kids. For now they don't have a care in the world. It's their parents that have toiled and sweated to pay for their tuition that should be protesting.

That's the problem with this movement, everyone is projecting what they want the movement to be. The movement is being spawned out of the necessity to a ways to a mean, rather than a facilitation of a means to an end.

The longer this thing drags out in its current incarnation the more frightened I'd be of the outcome.

In Rome for them it means let's grab bricks and break shit.
I'm not sure what that will do either.

Trout, that's not what you THINK it's about. But when I've passed by these protests in SF, that's what they were chanting -- it was about banksters committing fraud and screwing people. I couldn't care less about your personal opinion about what you think it's about -- I've been at ground zero.

You don't think that FIU or MDC or FAU students have a legit concern about the economic health of the country, considering they are going to be job hunting themselves very soon?

The issue is the huge disparity in the authorities' treatment of professionally-run financial institutions, versus the treatment of individuals.
