There's a lot of research out there showing average incomes for the vast majority have come close to stagnating or grown very slowly. However, since, e.g., 1976, the age of the average worker I assume has increased greatly along with the aging population. Similarly, average education levels have greatly increased.
I wonder what the data on average incomes would show if controlled for age [or years of work experience--assumed to correlate] and for education? No doubt a dramatic decline, but anyone have data or see a study like this?
