The dialog is a joke I'm sure. But the image they used, is a real trial perhaps. I'm not certain who though.

Can't imagine a wife would shoot her husband for walking on a wet floor. It's got to just be a joke - like a 1950's joke.

In reality, if you fucked up a newly cleaned floor, your wife would be like "you asshole! Fix it!" and you take a mop and would fix it.

We don't have waxed floors anymore. I remember that as a kid when my parents would do that. The kitchen was off limits for like 24 hours and if we broke that rule, we got a good beating. What sadistic fuck thought up the idea of waxed floors?
5259   Tenpoundbass   2022 Dec 27, 7:53pm

Yeah my Mom would mop with bleach then spic and span(the powder stuff that they don't make any more).
My wife and daughters use those Swiffer pads and the battery powered squirting mop applicator.
Every now and then I have to go buy a mop, and do a good wet mopping with a soaking pass, a swabbing pass, then a drying pass. By time I mop it again the mop used is all moldy and funky from not being used in months. So I have to go buy a new one.

I'm not a Nutella fan at all, but I think I called it right over ten years ago, when England started their assault on what people ate, and set their sights on Nutella.
Fast-forward to know, England is the uber Nanny State that it is now. Only rivaled by NZ and AU.

Firstly who eats a whole jar of it at once? So half of it is just sugar, so what. They put a tablespoon on a slice of bread, that means they are only eating half a tablespoon of sugar.
They could be eating a Snickers bar, which would have a hell of a lot more sugar, and don't see anyone attacking Mars, Nestle, and Hershey's, they way they have Nutella.

Agreed. Nutella is still by far the best tasting hazelnut chocolate spread and it's constantly attacked for its sugar content. It's not that high, just read the label, one serving (which is pretty large) has roughly the same amount as half a can of soda. It's certainly no health food, but it's not going to kill you. Stay active and enjoy your occasional Nutella! I would love it though if they came out with a version with say 20% less sugar as it's just a tad bit too sweet imo.

So stir in some straight Hershey's Dutch chocolate powder.

@mell - make your own:

It's pretty easy to make ketchup too, if you start out with tomato paste. If you want, you can make mayonnaise as well but it contains raw eggs.

When I first make stuff like this, I follow the recipe exactly, but over time I modify amounts and sometimes add or remove ingredients. I feel that, basically, I can make almost anything better than what comes in a bottle or a jar.
5264   Patrick   2022 Dec 28, 10:00am

I do that with salad dressing, but swapping in olive oil for canola oil. Nice of stores to put the ingredients right on the bottle.

I've started having a little bit of hot cocoa after coffee in the morning. I just heat a mix of half water and half whole milk with two small scoops of Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder. Somehow goes really well after coffee, but not before. Needs no sugar. I guess both the milk has sugar (lactose) and the cocoa probably naturally contains some as well.

The only cephalopod to go out on to dry land is the octopus.
—Aristotle

Written records of octopuses leaving the water have existed for over 2,000 years to
the time of Aristotle (Balme, 1991). Octopus alpheusis known to leave the water to
crawl between tide pools (Norman, 2000)...

Researchers and aquarists have reported octopuses escaping captivity despite
elaborate precautions (Anderson, 1997; Wood, 1994). One of the first papers was
by Lee (1875), who reported that Brighton aquarists were puzzled by disappearing
lumpfish, until one morning when the octopus was discovered in the lumpfish
tank.

Australia? I'm surprised the octopus didn't drag the cameraman down into a watery grave as well.

Yes. Imagine what she would be like if she didn't bike all the time.

Maybe this was a setup, because it's difficult to believe that a woman after doing this would think she was right after thinking about it for a bit. Who knows?

Guess who is on the cover of Rolling Stone for the 89th time?

They should just name it Dylan-Zappa Stone.

They destroyed their brand when they started covering Hip Hop and R&B. Rolling Stone magazine never featured Motown, Soul or Disco.
Then after that, they started being another outlet for the same propagandist that did a number on public radio, and are now taking over Conservative talk radio.

The Rolling Stone was never relevant. I knew a guy that bought it in college, but it's the most empty airheaded magazine I've ever read.

Reading the NY Times is tedious, but it makes reading the Rolling Stone look like a technical paper. It's so verbose with such little information. All the writers just write and write and write and say nothing. It's one of those magazines that you bought in the 1990's to put on your coffee table as an accessory to give you "hipster clout". Nobody ever read that stupid piece of shit. It was like Wired magazine. It was a decoration you had to replace once a month.

Patnet home of 23 of the worlds least sense of humor forum users.

"in:

The number 23 appears in many mysterious coincidences.

The "23 Enigma" refers to the belief that all incidents and events are directly connected to the number 23, some permutation of the number 23, or a number related to the number 23, given enough ingenuity on the part of the interpreter.

Discordianism
The "23 Enigma" in Discordianism is the belief that all events are connected to the number 23, given enough ingenuity on the part of the interpreter. It can be seen in Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's Illuminatus! trilogy (there called the "23/17 phenomenon"), Wilson's Cosmic Trigger I: The Final Secret of the Illuminati (there called "The Law of 23s" and "The 23 Enigma"), Arthur Koestler's Challenge of Chance, as well as the Principia Discordia. In these works, 23 is considered either lucky, unlucky, sacred to the goddess Eris, sinister, sacred to the unholy gods of the Cthulhu Mythos, or strange. Discordians regard this as a corollary of the Law of Fives.

As with most numerological claims, the 23 enigma can be viewed as an example of apophenia, selection bias, and confirmation bias. In interviews, Wilson has acknowledged the self-fulfilling nature of the 23 enigma, implying that the real value of the Laws of Fives and Twenty-threes lies in their demonstration of the mind's power to perceive "truth" in nearly anything."
