The Satyajit Ray movie about a man forced to be a groom in India is Apur Sansar (The World of Apu), the final part of Ray’s acclaimed Apu Trilogy, released in 1959. In the film, Apu, an idealistic and sensitive young man, is persuaded to marry a bride, Aparna, to save her from social ostracization after the designated groom is revealed to be mentally unstable on the wedding day. Apu’s friend, a cousin of Aparna, pleads with him to step in, as the bride’s family faces disgrace if the marriage does not proceed.

Usually family has money to big first wedding. Usually last a week n 500+ people. If sister is happy to marry , groom is also happy getting younger bride its good idea. Almost all weddings are decided with approval of bride n groom. With >90% success rate statistically, it should be ok. Family is going thru a lot death n wedding. Life goes on

I guess the advantage of such marriages is that there are no illusions. Much of life and wisdom is the casting aside of illusions, and a growing appreciation for embracing the world as it is, not as a lover, but a worthy adversary.

I like Nancy Mace but I would prefer she quit acting so trailer. Mocking people in the style of a 9-year-old and yelling "fuck you" is not a good look for a Congresswoman.
