I'm very curious to hear how the Republican supporters on this list justify this move. Though completely in character for this team, it's a bold and obvious public move that cannot be supported if there is any concern for honesty and transparency in gov. So explain it for me please, GOP, Shrek, etc, Why Is Eric Cantor Blocking the Congressional Insider Trading Act?

My guess on the replies, based on past threads that point out blatant republican hypocrisy: 1) None, crickets. 2) "There's something hidden in that bill that hurts Poor Working People, who are the republican's Real And True Concern" though of course nothing will be identified, or 3) "There are Technical Problems with the bill that require the whole thing be scrapped so that We Can Better Represent Our People at Some Point In The Future".

My call: This is what Congress and The House do now. The bill has been put forward by a couple of rogue elements who still possess some integrity, or are concerned for thier image, and has only been let make it this far because it's expected that it will be killed. Republicans barely even bother to pretend to care about honesty and fairness any more and killing the bill that promotes it and begins to strike against what has become an accepted income source for many of them is just business as usual, or maybe it's being killed simply because it was sponsored by a Dem. It is worth noting that some Reps are criticizing the move.

Why would they give up such a nice sweetheart deal there?

Are you saying they should be allowed to do so? Or are you sarcastically supporting the point? I THINK it's the latter...

Congressional Insider Trading is a method men of stature and merit use to bribe the poop stains in Congress. Neither 'party' supports a ban on bribes so get off your underclass soapbox.

Oh the insider trading was never the point of this thread... Blocking the movement of this bill is a plainly shitty thing, thats obvious enough, but what I was hoping to show with this thread, and plainly have, is that none of the standard bearers on this site for the republican team sport effort will say anything against the action, or as in shrek's case will actually support it for even the barest and flimsiest of reasons even after that reason has been shown to be BS (and thanks for replying shrek, it proves the point nicely), simply because it's proffered by 'one of their team's guys.

It's just another case that exposes what a bunch of spineless hypocrites they are, who are willing to support the craziest and obviously terrible actions of people they consider to be 'one of theirs', all while screaming in other threads about justice and accountability.
