If we all learned WHY prices overshot their value, We would all know where those prices will end up. The return to true value will be slower than stock pricing due to hesitant sellers. Some homes won't sell til the Owner dies.
Prices will continue to rise, but you will be required to sell for a substantial loss. If you want to actually sell your house.
But they will continue to list higher. As that is the only growth they can show. And that's what it's all about really. Numbers and the pretty picture they draw.

Robert Shiller is a very credible economist. It's like telling Chuck Norris that he doesn't know how to kick butt. Shiller might be off by a year or two but that would still be pretty bad
