I've started a separate thread regarding this post you made.

I wanted to let you know that the origins of the things you've listed was birth from the Democrats.

I know you want to believe it was the Christian Right movement, but you're wrong.

Yep, and what party did those Southern Democrats switch to in the 70s?

I witnessed that switch in the 70's. Living in the South, the Democratic Party had long been a tool of the established social "white" order. And suddenly it seemed like the national party no longer felt so beholden to overlooking some of it's KKK connections. Hence defection to a party more friendly to veiled racism. It may have been a different thing in other places, but in the South it was pretty starkly racism driven. It started at the lowest levels and percolated up. It wasn't until 2003 that the Georgia Governship shifted from over a century of Democrats over to Republican hands.

Wow, a whole thread dedicated to me!

But seriously, I've already addressed why you are wrong.

Dan8267 says

3. True, the Democratic Party used to be the party of social conservatives and the Republican Party used to be the party of social liberals. But that all changed in the 1960s with LBJ, Nixon, and Goldwater. Today, the opposite is true.

4. Yes, the Democrats used to be evil when they were made up of social conservatives. Strom Thurmond, that evil bigot who filibustered the Civil Rights Act in the 1950s, was a Democrat when he did so. He became a Republican when LBJ saw that racism was a dead end politically and started passing civil rights legislation. At that time, all the social conservatives fled the Democratic Party and enter the Republican ranks. The two parties switched roles and have remained that way since.

And you're not going to convince me with anything you find on Wikipedia. Have I not bashed that site enough already? Yet, people keep quoting Propogandapedia.

Don't feel bad though. I also have to go back to Eisenhower to find a Republican that isn't a scumbag. (Ron Paul's a Libertarian.)
