We can volunteer to be a Republican or Democrat. How's that working?
LMAO
It will take a better choice than republicans and democrats.

Why is it that people consider it civilized to force people to do things against their will?
Conformity is a necessity that most would agree with, though those same people, would also feel exempt from.

How else you gonna get rich and powerful?
Ask Steve Jobs (or his successor), Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Tom Cruise, Stan Lee or your local business owner about how to use talent, passion, and hard work to persuade people to buy you and your products. Can rules and force ever create what these people did freely? wthrfrk80 says

But it's far easier to just point a gun at someone and say "give me all your money." That's why the sociopaths who rule the world do so.
It does not have to be this way, and anyone who tells you otherwise is complicit in empowering the sociopaths as you call them. By the way you are right about force being easier than persuasion, that is why the wealthy and influential instigate wars and run police states to control their subjects. Ever wonder who rules this country?

That was precisely my point.
Sociophaths always rule, almost by definition. It's similar to Darwin's concept of natural selection. The people who "make it to the top" are the ones who have no morals that might hinder them from getting there.
I've only read the first couple of chapters but this is some of the most important and relevant information penned by humans that I have had the privilege to read in recent days.
