An interesting observation from Santa Monica, I was there two weeks ago with a friend, we drove a few blocks past the 3rd street promenade to find parking and a more 'Zen' place to watch the sunset.

Walking back to the car on the other side of the street, to my surprise, if not shock, were two older, but in decent shape, boarded up ocean view apartment buildings! I had trouble processing it. What are they foreclosures? no investor snatched them up yet? More bank owned properties left to rot?

This real estate market is weird.

If the democrats really cared about the poor/middle class they would be allowing trailer parks everywhere. Instead they buy up private land with government (taxpayer)money then declare it 'free space' or a park and no one can build there ever. Then the local city governments destroy the trailer parks like this case - and there is no where to live except a 500k condo/apartment with a zero down FHA loan.

From the article; who knows how much of it is true, though:

"If the park is closed, Luzzatto has offered residents as much as $20,000 to relocate, as well as the opportunity to move into one of the new apartments after they're built. He says he'd subsidize rent for up to five years so they'd pay the same amount as now."

"In addition, [. . .] he and his partners will offer to buy new mobile homes for every displaced resident who wants one and put them in what would be the city's last mobile home park [. . . . ]"

What are these people supposed to do after 5 years?
Is there room in that other mobile home park? What's the rent there?

I see the government wants to get rid of any available affordable housing! Brilliant!

I heard that some Liberal in LA city hall was wanting to tax Bums on the size of their refrigerator Box, and the location they set up shop. Make them take out occupation license for panhandling and tax them 50%.
