Yup, he did.

Oh, really?

Please cite a reference where Obama promises to keep the GM plant open.

....

Oh, you can't? That's OK don't feel too bad. Ryan's people could not find a reference where Obama made the promise either.

Are we talking about the GM plant that closed down under the Bush administration? Only idiots listen to anything that Paul Ryan says. He's a compulsive liar, not someone you'd want in power.

Yes.

is there ANY promise that Barack Obama DIDN'T break?

I am glad you asked.

Yes, indeed there have been many actual promises -- not promises made up by Ryan -- made by Obama that he did keep.

You can see a list of them here:

Once again, the team at The Daily Show and The Colbert Report do what "serious" news programs should be doing: calling out all politicians whenever they lie and presenting the real facts in an indisputable way.

It's really sad that with the exception of NPR, RT News, and PBS, there are no serious news sources that hold a candle to two comedy shows. And although the comedy programs call themselves "fake news", it's really the real news with comedy. The things they report are are factually correct unlike most other news sources.

Granted, they don't go into the depth that NPR, RTN, and PBS do, but neither does the mainstream media. And The Daily Show and The Colbert Report do what reporters and the media are suppose to do: they keep politicians accountable for their words and the their actions.

My favorite bit of The Daily Show was when Jon Stewart shames GOP on filibustering the Rescue Worker Bill that would save the lives of 9/11 workers who were dying from diseases caused by the conditions they worked in on 9/11.

Unfortunately, there are no YouTube clips that show the whole interview with the four 9/11 responders where they describe in detail the horrors inflicted on the responders -- one responder's nose literally fell off from his exposures to toxins -- and the complete lack of medical care caused by the Republican's filibuster.

This clip shows
1. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are excellent news sources.
2. The other news agencies dropped the ball on important issues.
3. The Republicans played chicken with the lives of 9/11 responders for political gain.
4. News agencies can make a positive difference if they have the balls to report real news and report it honestly.

I still have that episode on my HTPC, and I'm never deleting it. And whenever someone says that The Daily Show isn't a legitimate news source, I say bullshit, watch this clip.

Make your life simple by asking the RIGHT questions. In THIS case: is there ANY promise that Barack Obama DIDN'T break?

There are many promises Obama broke, most importantly closing Gitmo on day one. However, Paul Ryan didn't mention those promises because he supports every bad mistake Obama made. Obama is a republican in every way except label and skin tone.

Yup, he did.

I've occasionally wondered if there were any lie from the right so plain, so bald, so trivially verifiably wrong --that even a true believer like Shrek would call bullshit on it.

Today I have my answer. It is not a good day.

I looked carefully...

I appreciate your careful consideration of the list that I linked to, and while horribly misinformed I still applaud you on your measured thoughtful and well reasoned reply.

You sir are a credit to Republicans everywhere, and today have heightened the level of conservative political discourse.
