Just finished a 2,400 mile, 7 day road trip through California, Oregon and Washington. Saw overwhelming support for Romney on signs, placards and billboards throughout all three states.

None for obama. None. Not one sign, not one placard, not one billboard anywhere to be seen for obama...not a single one. Bumper stickers? 5 to 1 for Romney.

My favorite billboard? "VOTE FOR THE AMERICAN".

The emperor has no clothes (AKA - an empty chair).

God I hope so. France, as you may know, is proposing to ban the words "father" and "mother" to be replaced with Parent 1 and Parent 2.

That sounds warm, loving, and nurturing, right? Liberals (and socialists and communists) want to destroy the family. Nothing new here, same old slop.

28   Tenpoundbass   2012 Oct 15, 6:28am

Honest Abe says

want to destroy the family.

With out a single doubt in my mind.

29   gbenson   2012 Oct 15, 7:02am

I saw this title and thought it was referring to the number of outright lies told in the last debate.

Us libs don't have to beat our chests and put up signs. We are intelligent enough that we don't need to be TOLD who to vote for.

Well actually you do, and it helps if you can get an American company to allow you to hijack their iconic brand Logo, to give it some hip cred to the young voters, that cast their votes based on the getting laid factor.

Face it having an Obama/Biden sticker on your Prius just doesn't have that "OOMPH" that it had 4 years ago. I'd wager most voters from 2008 would feel utterly ridiculous with it now.

31   Honest Abe   2012 Oct 15, 8:02am

Utterly ridiculous...and betrayed.

Thomas.Wong says, "vandalism of any Romney-Ryan signs are fairly common, pretty much across the nation."
Sort of gives you a pretty clear idea of the quality and nature of Obama's voter base

And I can easily make the assertion that Romney voters vandalize Obama signs. Sort of gives a pretty clear idea of the quality and the nature of the posts here when no one can back up their assertions accurately.

33   Honest Abe   2012 Oct 15, 9:37am

I can accurately assert my friends car antenna was broken off and apparently used as a whip to hit a Ron Paul sticker on the side of his car because the indentation on the fender matched the shape of the broken antenna which was left behind.

Mertens v Wolfeboro Nat. Bank determined: "It is the duty of one who volunteers information to another not having equal knowledge, with the intention that he will act upon it, to exercise reasonable care to verify the truth of his statements before making them".

34   michaelsch   2012 Oct 16, 6:12am

There is one overwhelming reason why no sane American should vote for Romney. Look at such polls. It clearly proves Romney is not running for American Presidency, but for Foreign interests.

http://www.jpost.com/USPresidentialrace/Article.aspx?id=287697

Voting for Romney means voting against America being an independent nation.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/u-s-elections-2012/adelson-american-jews-shouldn-t-trust-obama-on-israel-1.469644

Abe, today being honest means voting against Romney!

35   gbenson   2012 Oct 16, 7:00am

Anyone voting for Romney, please come see me.. I have a bridge to sell you.

The gullibility of the American public, particularly ones with a republican bent, is astounding. And the fact that the press now stands there and lets people blatantly lie and not question it in fear that their advertising dollars will dry up. Who knew the movie Idiocracy will wind up being non-fiction.

Obummer should do the honorable thing and withdraw from the election. Its that simple. Vote for the American.

37   gbenson   2012 Oct 16, 8:13am

I am voting for the American (Obama). He much more closely represents the principles this country was founded upon. Republican's represent the oligarchy and theocracy the immigrants to this country thought they had left behind.

38   Honest Abe   2012 Oct 16, 9:41am

Benson, right on, comrade! Obama represents nothing this country was founded upon...that's because he rejects the constitution, freedom, liberty, the rule of law, privacy, private property, personal responsibility, personal initiative, personal sovereignty, success, and sound money.

Abe, I'd debate you on this, but your premise and 'examples' are just asinine. I frankly don't want to waste that much time correcting all the idiotic things you said.

No wonder you Republicfags like Romey. You're all a bunch of fucking lairs.

What color is the sky in your world anyway?

getting rid of our defenses, basically making us a weak asss country!

Yep, because your country only spent $711bn in 2011, whereas the second biggest spender, China, forked out a whopping $143bn. Tremble in fear.

46   gbenson   2012 Oct 16, 3:22pm

Wrinkled4skin, except everything you said is utterly and totally false. In fact the opposite of everything you said is true.

God you Republican's just don't have any freaking clue on how to separate fact from fiction do you? You live in opposite land or something.

Lets go point by point shall we.

  • more regulations - actually Obama has eliminated more regs than created new
  • high gas prices - aside from the fact that the president has NOTHING to do with gas prices, they were higher under Bush in inflation adjusted dollars or as a percent of cost of living
  • high un employement - has been going down under Obama, was going up under a Republican administration. And is currently going down even while Republican's have done everything in their power to actually block jobs programs. Factor out all the Republican state government cuts (teachers, firefighters, police) and unemployment would be another 2% lower.
  • Huge debt - compared to Bush who hid the wars 'off the books'? Besides any fucktard who completed Econ 101 knows the only proven way to stimulate an economy in a tailspin is government spending. Should I even mention that a Republican led Congress, not the president currently controls the budget, or were you too busy sticking your thumb up your ass in high school social studies to understand even the most basic concept of how our govt actually functions?
  • Illegal aliens pouring in - Obama has deported more illegals than Bush
  • Getting rid of our defenses - How so, you are just making stupid shit up. The programs they are trying to cut are ones that the MILITARY (the guys wearing the uniforms) say they don't need or want. Congress won't cut them though and is wasting BILLIONS of dollars. Romney has promised to increase spending and buy them MORE of the things they don't need or want.
  • He drops to his knees to the 3rd world leaders - Just pull more shit out of your ass why don't you. It's the Republican's who want to turn the US into Mexico with no unions and cheap labor.
  • I swear, you guys are just morons.

sadly we have several blends of gas in this country ( around 11) ... which contribute to higher prices. Not Obama's fault but should be reviewed and reduced which would reduce price volatility.

its Oktoberfest .. your car drinks a different blend...

Special Gasoline Blends Reduce Emissions and Improve Air Quality, but Complicate Supply and Contribute to Higher Prices

Abe, as usual you have no point, or rather are grasping at straws (which I realize republican's must do in order to try and make their points). Hannity and Savage, and other right wingnut 'stars' regularly imply that Obama should be strung up, doctors should be killed, etc. They go as close to the line as the law will allow to rile up their base.

Republican's are crazy enough to actually act on their lizard brain impulses. From 5 days ago:

    52   gbenson   2012 Oct 17, 4:18am

Hmm, after writing the post above I got to thinking about the people making threats against Romney. They actually have a point.

Since Ronmey's plan (what little of it he will reveal) is eerily similar to Bush'era policy, there is a very real chance (a high probability in fact) that a Romney presidency would result in a return to the economic death spiral Bush got us into.

So the prospect of a Ronmey presidency means you will lose your job, and with the social safety net gutted, starvation and death due to lack of health care are very real possibilities. Sounds like pre-meditated self defense.

  • Disclaimer: this post is in jest against republican stupidity. I do not, nor have I ever advocated violence against anyone, and have never even been in so much as a fist fight in my 40'some odd years on this planet.

    Honest Abe says

Ob,mama wants redistribution and $8/ gallon gasoline.

You are just proving your ignorance with idiotic comments like this. The facts bear out that Obama has 'Drilled baby drill' more than Bush and the US's number one export is now gasoline. He's also taking away mineral leases from oil companies that are sitting on leases instead of actually drilling on the land and reissuing the leases to companies that will actually drill the oil.

The only accurate word in your entire post was redistribution. Lets see, why on earth could he possibly want any redistribution. Oh yeah, this is why>

    58   gbenson   2012 Oct 24, 9:11am

Wrinkled, you post was gibberish. If you had proposed even a semblance of a fact or argument in there I would gladly provide a rebuttal. Is English not your first language? If it is, then your post was utterly pathetic.

    59   edvard2   2012 Oct 24, 9:11am

Its funny that some folks on the right are still whining about oil and how we should drill drill drill when as of today a new report came out that shows the US will soon be the BIGGEST producer of oil in the world. So how exactly are we supposed to drill more more more when we already are and we are soon to produce more of the stuff than anyone else?

and how many of the nations have created an environment of entrepreneurship...

where excess saving from the top actually make 1000s of new business... employing millions...

you see boats loads of new companies being created in Denmark, Sweden or Austria.

where is the motivation to invest ? yes.. they score well in math and science but so what ? what have they done to show for it ?

    61   gbenson   2012 Oct 24, 9:40am

    1. BFD? All presidents observe local customs when traveling abroad.
    2. He had to. Bush pissed off dozens of them. Just cleaning up the mess left by the last guy.
    3. I agree.
    4. Every jobs bill opposed by republicans and Reps at the state level have accounted for another 2% unemployment with layoffs of state workers. If you discount these, Obama is close to his goal even with Congressional opposition that 's gotton.
    5. Show me one presidential budget that hasn't been destroyed by Congress. It's business as usual. And for what its worth the president has NOTHING to do with a budget, its Congress (entirely) responsible for developing and approving the budget.
    6. I don't get your point?
    7. Total lie. He gave the 700B to the governers (the governers requested he do this so they'd have more flexibility) For what its worth, what he did was a Republican proposed plan, now you morons are beating him over the head with it accusing him of taking the money away. Additionally Ryan's proposed budget DOES cut medicaid benefits by at least this much.
    8. We are in a depression, had he not added stimulus, unemployment would be 20'something percent. Cutting spending in a recessionary period is just plain fucking stupid, and any economist will tell you so.
    9. Nixon tried to pass similar legislation. Is Nixon a socialist marxist muslim too?

gotta run, will have fun shredding the rest of your lies later..

    62   gbenson   2012 Oct 24, 11:27am

ok, I'm back. WHere was I?
    10. Even Republican's (along with the CBO) have had to concede that the spending stopped our slide into oblivion.
    11. Actions speak louder than flag pins. Do you wear one? Its a stupid issue. Obama has treated our soldiers considerably better than the past president did, and Romney would. Bush signed what GI bill??? Oh, that's right, he didn't!
    12. God Fox makes you guys stupid. Here is one he did in 2010. http://www.youtube.com/embed/Gh76oepKFc8
    13. This is just freaking idiotic. Obama is at worst a moderate republican in terms of his policy changes. He's barely to the left of Ronald Reagan. You wouldn't know a liberal if he bit you in the leg.
    14. See post 70 in this thread, or are graphs too complicated for you to understand?
    15. Bush initiated Solyndra, among LOTS of other green energy initiatives and tax credits. Grow up and get real. If we don't figure out how to get this country off oil in the next 20-30 years we are going to be royally fucked by the Muslims with all the oil.
    16. And Romney just lied about it to score political points. It's a freaking campaign season, what do you expect? These things are scheduled weeks in advance. Bush attended campaign fundraisers shortly after 9/11 and that was early in his presidency.
    17. Utter crap. Your statement is just patently false and you just pulled crap out of your ass on this one.
    18. The security experts who we pay to make those sorts of decisions. Do you really think Hillary personally decides how many soldiers to station at each of the thousands of embassies and govt buildings we have around the globe. I swear, you think like a child.
    19. Yes and somehow he ended up more American than you are.
    20. Aside from the fact that you haven't a clue what Wright was actually referring to because you have no freaking clue what its like to be in the minority and be blatantly oppressed your entire life. Should we talk about the hate filled crap that preachers that McCain and the RNC, and conservative coalition pal around with? Lastly on this one, do you really want to start holding people responsible for everything some dumbass friend or acquaintance says? Again, you are thinking like a child.
    21. So stupid a comment it doesn't deserve a response. Its just false.
    22. And why all the appointments? Because 3 years into his presidency the idiots in the Senate are still blocking up or down votes on people that Republicans admit are well qualified for the position.
    23. Name one president since 1910 that didn't do this. Try...
    24. As opposed to Bush who bankrupted multiple companies, or Romney who shutters American companies doors and moves jobs to China while wearing his 'magic underpants'. Do you even know what it takes to Govern we are not a dictatorship, we are a Republic. Obama's community involvement and ability to find compromise positions made him very well suited for the job of President. You really want to put Bush's intellect up against Obama's? I'm more than willing to go down that path with you all day long. Let's start talking about Romey's results in Mass (hint: I wouldn't have brought it up if he did a great job while gov)
    25. Sustainable development = National Security. (So says the CIA) I looked it up, it said you are an idiot.

Please rebut... I'd love the opportunity to keep kicking your intellectual ass around the block.
