"That said, is there anything to these complaints? Is the reform bill unusually long? Not really. Christopher Beam had a good piece on this the other day.
"[M]ajor spending bills frequently run more than 1,000. This year's stimulus bill was 1,100 pages. The climate bill that the House passed in June was 1,200 pages. Bill Clinton's 1993 health care plan was famously 1,342 pages long. Budget bills can run even longer: In 2007, President Bush's ran to 1,482 pages.
"Over the last several decades, the number of bills passed by Congress has declined: In 1948, Congress passed 906 bills. In 2006, it passed only 482. At the same time, the total number of pages of legislation has gone up from slightly more than 2,000 pages in 1948 to more than 7,000 pages in 2006. (The average bill length increased over the same period from 2.5 pages to 15.2 pages.)
"Bills are getting longer because they're getting harder to pass. Increased partisanship over the years has meant that the minority party is willing to do anything it can to block legislation -- adding amendments, filibustering, or otherwise stalling the lawmaking process. As a result, the majority party feels the need to pack as much meat into a bill as it can -- otherwise, the provisions might never get through.

"What's more, if you've ever seen the physical page of a bill in Congress, you know that it doesn't look like a traditional printed page. As one of Matt's readers noted yesterday, "Nobody ever mentions that bills have very few words on each page. They're double spaced, there are huge margins, every line is numbered -- it ends up working out to only 150 words a page or so. The HC bill may be long, but it's the equivalent of a 300 or 400-page book, tops."
Well even a carpenter can justify 3 hour lunches, $10,000 over budget, and the out of square walls. That doesn't mean you can't find better Carpenters.

You are correct. However, it appears that the carpenters are following union rules and the work ethics of every other carpenter. The structure that they built isn't unique in its size, it's just been painted a different color by the neighbors (and their supporters) who ran for election to the Neighborhood Association but lost.
PS:
Obama Won.
Ditto.

Ah that's the problem, you should always hire independent contractors with references.
More important a track record. Community organizers make rotten carpenters.

Nice try, but you are using logic, facts and reason to argue with a wing-nut.
Community organizers make rotten carpenters.
Yes, but they do have the ability to mobilize people and get them interested in their cause.
Like being elected to the country's highest office, for example. And being re-elected.

Maybe if I tattooed the info on my breasts & jumped up & down wearing a barely-there bra?

Yeah, ha ha ha fucking stupid suckers. Those blacks and Latinos have a short memory and don't follow the news. Talk about a class that shouldn't be allowed to vote. Well actually they aren't but Liberals want convicted felons, and undocumented immigrants to vote, it's the only way they can win.
"This is an actual photo of the AHCA"
Did you mean, the PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) also known as Obama Care ?
Presumably as much rigorous analysis goes in to forming your opinions as you show when expressing them.

so True.... I heard that he was fixing parking tickets 18 months before running for president...

With a choice between dirtbag and stupid , you want us to believe it's stupidity.

I agree - blacks and latinos shouldn't be allowed to vote. Nor should women - unless they're accompanied by a WASP male who is able to keep them in line as they instruck them how to vote.
While we're at it, Jews, Indians and other heathens shouldn't be allowed to vote. In fact, any non- white, foreigners and/or non God fearing individuals or people without penises (penisi?) should be allowed to voice their opinion, much less cram it down our throat by voting.
I don't need anything but my dog Shithead and I'm good.
Boy don't you guys get all riled up when someone suggests people shouldn't be allowed to vote, based on a criteria other than Whites in relation to their geographic location and their IQ level?
Maybe if I tattooed the info on my breasts & jumped up & down wearing a barely-there bra?
proof that I am not gay!
This is an actual photo of the AHCA that Pelosi pleaded we needed to pass to find what's in it.
It's not so funny when you look it now is it?
