Nov28,2012 ...Today, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC released its annual Home Listing Report (HLR) revealing several of the country’s most expensive real estate markets are in Northern California. ... this year’s most expensive market, Los Altos, Calif., where the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home is $1,706,688.

North America’s Most Expensive Markets:Vancouver once again held its position as the most expensive market in Canada, with an average list price of $1,876,414 for the subject home.

I'd like to point out that according to MSN, there are over 4,000 foreclosures/preforeclosures in Santa Clara county. I find this heartening and will continue to hold off on buying for a couple more years.
