Just a thought about the search function

Shouldn't it be towards the top of the main page? And perhaps an attractive feature would be to either be able to search the whole site or pick from any of the category tabs and only search within those.

Thoughts?

You're right, the search function should be able to pick from any category.

I suppose I hide it at the bottom because it's a little embarassing. The search function is not great. It's just the default mysql text search function, and it just searches threads. There's a separate comment search function. So that's why I didn't put it at the top, but I suppose I should.

Most definitely.

Sometimes I am looking for a specific thing and it seems like that function would be pretty basic and expected of a site like this.
