What would fund SSI then? You'd need to raise or eliminate the cap on earnings (or make a donut hole for the upper-middle class).

Romney was the guy that told the truth, and said he was going to cut out all of the breaks and cuts. To which Obama called him on, and said...
"So you're saying taxes will go up on everyone?" Romney thought a minute and said, "I guess that IS what I'm saying. "

To which Obama used as an opportunity to reiterate his stance that taxes wont go up on the middle class. Not one single dime.

That maybe true but the economy has had major inflation over the last 4 yrs especially on food and services, way over 2% a year. With inflation and now an additional 2-4% loss in pay people who should not be punished for the government propping up the society on behalf of the Banks and elites are now the fall guys.

Social security tax will go up from 4.2% to 6.2% on first $113,700 of income. However, there's no 2% obamacare tax. What will happen is that singles with income of 200Gs or more and marrieds with income of 250Gs or more will pay additional 3.8% tax on ivestment income.

I think its obvious that barack was talking about income taxes, not payroll taxes. If "fellow stupid americans" didn't get it or didn't bother to research, that's on them, maybe they should watch less reality tv.
