Abortion remains extremely unpopular amongst latinos due to catholicism.
I think this is not supported by the exit polls.

Catholic voters are much different than the hierarchy. Even among the clergy, there are big differences on these issues versus the Conference of Bishops.
So, I'd say Hispanics tend to be liberal on BOTH Social and Economic issues, in addition to being turned off by the xenophobic GOP.

Most Latinos understand, perhaps better than Fox viewers, that divide & misrule rhetoric is not "natural positions on social issues." Newt Gingrich campaigning absurdly with his 3rd wife against gay couples getting married doesn't fool most Latinos the same way it fools Fox viewers. On social issues, Latin American countries from Argentina to Mexico are moving ahead of what used to be called "the land of the free." Gay couples can get married in Argentina, or Mexico City, but not in California. Maybe that's the Republicans' plan to stop immigration?

In the 1996 presidential election, 72% of Hispanics and Latinos backed President Bill Clinton, but in 2000 the Democratic total fell to 62%, and went down again in 2004, with Democrat John Kerry winning Hispanics 58–40 against Bush. Hispanics in the West, especially in California, were much stronger for the Democratic Party than in Texas and Florida. California Latinos voted 63–32 for Kerry in 2004, and both Arizona and New Mexico Latinos by a smaller 56–43 margin; but Texas Latinos were split nearly evenly, favoring Kerry 50–49, and Florida Latinos (mostly being Cuban American) backed Bush, by a 54–45 margin.

Hispanics is a far wide reach of people who include Californian and Texans when they were not US states but independent republics and who do not identify as LATAM heritage. I have known many since my youth, and many have done very well over they years. They are not the Social and Economic Liberals but more entrepreneur conservatives in their long family history. They have no ties to LATAM or seek changes in immigration.

All whites should be frightened. The greatest country in the world, which was created by their white ancestors for the benefit of their white children, is being given away to those too genetically unintelligent to participate in a first world civilization.
The average black IQ is 85 while the average white IQ is 100. Latinos fall in the middle of that. It makes no sense to increase the numbers of low IQ citizens but that's exactly what the US government attempts to do.
Blacks should have their own country. Latinos should have their own country. Whites should have their own country.
Racial diversity makes us all weaker. There would be far less instances of "racism" in a racially homogeneous country. Citizens would trust each other more in that racially united country. Citizens would more easily agree on working towards common goals and would not be spread too thin trying to please all other racial minority groups.

China and India are also much more racially homogeneous than the US. They do not import millions of people who are unlike the current residents. They want their cultures to survive and not be intermixed into oblivion. The US should follow their lead.
China and India are also mostly corrupt and have billions in their poor underclass. Any modern civilizations they build are small compared to their overall population and mostly mimic the west.

The results indicate that Barack won the latino vote 71% to 29%. This 41% spread is rather impressive especially considering that "on paper" the reps should have an advantage with latino demographic on a couple of values issues. Abortion remains extremely unpopular amongst latinos due to catholicism. Overall as a group, particularly amongst older latinos, gay marriage is not exactly the issue that gets their support. Additionally, regarding "family values" Latinos actually practice it as opposed to talking about it. So based on these advantages the reps should have carried the demographic 66% vs 34% at least. A swing of 71% vs 29% the other way represnts nothing short of historic collapse give the intangibles - in fact the political strategist for the reps should probably be fired. There is no other way to explain this collapse other than to explain it in a way that the latinos must have been so alienated by the recent statement of republican party via xenophobia and red meat pandering towards white conservatives by being blamed for immigration and taking american jobs that they voted against their natural positions on social issues. This is an indictment on how xenophobic the republican party can come across to various ethnic groups. As such I fully expect that the next rep presidential and/or vice presidential candidate to be a minority. That is what the reps will likely do in an attempt to fracture the minority vote in the next election - rubio, jindal, playa cain will have a prominent role in next cycle.
