A school participating in Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's controversial voucher program is apparently using a history book that teaches its eighth-grade students that "hippies" were dirty followers of Satan-worshipping rock musicians.

The article goes on to describe how these Southern schools describe slaves as well-treated, which makes you wonder why so many tried to escape, and that the KKK were the good guys.

Well, at least they were right about the hippies. God, I hate hippies.

The irony that Jindal implemented it, because he would have been lynched too because of his skin color.

And they wonder why the South is always the butt of jokes about stupidity and living in the past.

Sic semper tyrannous.

"Sic semper tyrannis" is Latin for "thus ever to tyrants".

"'[The Ku Klux] Klan in some areas of the country tried to be a means of reform, fighting the decline in morality and using the symbol of the cross. Klan targets were bootleggers, wife-beaters, and immoral movies. In some communities it achieved a certain respectability as it worked with politicians.'—United States History for Christian Schools, 3rd ed., Bob Jones University Press, 2001"

And here I was thinking that the KKK was a bad thing.

I live in south Florida, which is the north. North Florida is the south. Florida is a microcosm of the U.S. flipped upside down. Most of my neighbors are New Yorkers.

Also, I have no qualms about calling them as I see them, even on the place where I live. Florida is the capital of spam and scams. It used to be the drug kingpin of the country until people found out you could make more money scamming others on the Internet.

So if I get an email from a Floridain prince asking for my bank account number to get money out of Florida its a scam?

Damn!

If you get an email from a Floridiot about anything, it's probably a scam.

What you don't like the Redneck indoctrination?
I'm sure Buba just loves his kids reading that Lincoln was Gay, and Davie Crocket was a coward. Revisionists are useless fucks regardless of where they live. Since the Liberal agenda poison is perfectly fine to filter through our youths brains, then I say anything goes. It's all just misinformation anyway.

States that are in the bottom 10 should have their education system federalized, and the forced to adopt standards and textbooks used by the top 10 schools.

That would be the capitalistic, pro-competition solution. You know, survival of the fittest and all that stuff that makes conservatives wag their tails. But funny, how they don't like any of that stuff when they are on the short end of the stick. Funny how they don't like being told to "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps" when it comes to education.
