Someone bought this in April of 2012 for 473K and it's now selling for 908K. Sure they put on a new roof, but the kitchen doesn't look new although it's not circa 1962 either This is the not-so-good part of Almaden Valley. If someone buys this at this price I will be amazed.

I am tempted to go see this so I can have a good laugh.

they hype machine is in full swing.. it never stopped in SCC...

You could have bought it for say 175-180K or so pre-bubble.

I guess that would be around 400% increase in 15-17 years...

This house shows pending on Redfin. It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Imagine this cottage without the staging. Factor in the powerline views, the horrible concrete or stucco back wall, the views of the neighbors. I feel sorry for folks who have to look for homes in the extended Bay Area. Trapped rats. Flee!

It sold for 940K. Unbelieveable. This is not the nice part of Almaden Valley. This is one of the worst areas but middle class, typically went for 650K. Wow. Maybe they have a pot 'o gold buried in the backyard.

Must be the granite! Its like crack for housebuyers.

Anything under $2M is bargain basement compared to rest of the world.

You'd better believe it. Apparently someone saw the value in it.

How many years does it take for an engineer or an accountant to make this kind of money compared to how long it takes for an investor to make this money. You don't need a degree to make 6 figures in America. In fact, you don't need to go to an Ivy League school to make 7 figures. This is what America is all about. It's the land of opportunity for immigrants.

Gotta love the smell of Peet's coffee.

It's not that unusual. In 2011, I saw a place in San Jose go from 400 to 750K in eight months without any updates. I have an example flagged somewhere in my dropbox, and will dig it up.

Um wow, the seller must have had a shit-eating grin the whole time.

Don't forget the property tax bill based on the new assessment. God Bless 'em for helping fund local services like that.
