I hear what you're saying, but I don't know what that has to do with anything I wrote.

I'm not, nor would I ever downplay racism or social inequality in America (though I would suggest that race is far less a dividing line today when it comes to the latter). We fucking know better, but that shit still won't completely die. No, I'm simply saying that by making a word verboten, you empower it. It's like not looking at a tumor on your groin and hoping that by referring to it as Big T it might somehow make it go away.
