The Budwig diet to my eye looks to be an early application of this research pioneered in the 1950s:

Granted this diet has not been proven to have any meaningful cure rate; however the chemistry of the Budwig diet is very similar to that used to make (H)BAMLET which is HAS been proven over and over to be a successful cancer killer.
Gc-MAF (a Nagalase inhibitor) and alternative forms such as MAF314 have been used to treat various other conditions as well, such as persistent chronic infections. It is hard to assess its full potential at this point and it will be disregarded by big pharma and the paid for MDs as long as possible as not much money can be made from it, but it will be picked up by mainstream eventually.

Curing Cancer would be a great contribution for me to blame Obama for.
I don't see any threat of that ever happening during his administration though.
In May of 2008 this health writer published an almost unbelievable report of four published studies of 4-7 year remissions from colon and breast cancer facilitated by weekly injection of an abundant sugar-like protein in human blood serum called Gc macrophage activating factor (Gc-MAF). A year later I wrote a follow-up report showing lack of interest by the cancer care community in this remarkable development.
