You know what, I am going to comment on this. There is no excuse for tasing an obviously unarmed 11-year-old. The cop who did this should get the death penalty, and I'm almost always against the death penalty.
The idea that an adult male can't stop an 11-year-old girl from walking without tasing her is ridiculous.
Tasers are torture devices and should be banned. Any cop that used it against any unarmed person should be hung and left to rot on the police department steps as a warning for all the rest of the cops.

This is not a place for AFesque parody. Wow, just wow. Evil has no bounds in these United States.
Something that shocks you, finally.
Police shot children as young as 12 with 50,000-volt Taser linked to causing fatal heart attacks
A schoolgirl, 12, is one of 24 young children to be hit with a full 50,000-volt
But at least 194 children aged 16 or under have been shocked with Tasers at lower levels in the last three years
Young people's charities and human rights organisations claim use of Tasers on children may cause heart problems later on

Sorry AF, but these cops are amateurs when it comes to evil. My current benchmark for evil (and I mean seriously fucking EVIL) is this guy:

Now THAT is EVIL.
As you all may know, I'm no fan of evil, idiotic and violent police practices. But I can't help but think that the (presumably male) police officer may have considered his options for constraining a naked 11-year old girl and decided not to take the risk of physically laying hands on her.
In the kind of society we live in he just might get MORE criticism for that than for tasering (tasing?) the poor girl. Can you imagine possible photos and videos taken from the stopped cars? If it was a naked boy he probably would not have hesitated much to use his hands.
Ideally there would be several woman police officers available, but there may not have been. Perhaps he should have waited for one. Or enlisted some female motorists to help him.
The best approach might have been for the officer to get a big blanket or tarp and use it to wrap the girl up and thereby constrain her in a gentle and discreet manner.
Tasering was a bad mistake, maybe even criminal. But I see the conundrum.
They could have got the spare tire out of the trunk and bowled her over with it. Easier to taser perps when they are on the ground.
ASHLAND, Oregon — The father of an autistic girl who was tased by a trooper in Oregon is calling the action “excessive.â€
On Saturday morning, a cab driver spotted the 11-year-old girl walking along the freeway. She was naked.
Aram Hampson says his daughter has a severe case of autism. She cannot carry on a conversation and she runs away from home often.
“You can just tell you’re not dealing with a regular person that’s either on drugs or anything else,†Hampson said.
Troopers didn’t realize she was only 11-years old when they found her.
“She’s kind of you know, husky,†her father explained.
Hampson believes this is why his pre-teen daughter was mistaken for a woman, but he questions why an Oregon State police trooper chose to tase her.
“It’s a little overused. It was not necessary. There wasn’t any threat to the officers. And from the witness’ report, it didn’t seem like she was an immediate threat.â€
But the Oregon State Patrol says tasing her most likely saved her life.
The trooper saw the girl in danger, running on the interstate across both lanes of the freeway, the Highway Patrol said.
O.S.P says the trooper was not aware of the girl’s diagnosis — and was under the impression she was older.
“This was not your normal 11-year-old. And the fact that she was 11 shocked me when we found out her actual age,†said the officer.
O.S.P. says based on the circumstances, that it was 4:00 a.m., on an interstate, tasing her was the appropriate response.
“Ultimately, we want to use the least amount of force necessary. So based on that she takes what she has to deal with and has to make a split-second decision. And the fact that the individual was running into lanes of traffic on I-5, she felt it was best for everybody,†an O.S.P spokesperson said.
Sounds bad on the face of it, but reconsider the autism in this case. The girl was running naked in traffic lanes at 4am, and her responsiveness to the cop was probably indistinguishable from someone on crack or the 4th day/night of a meth binge.
Politically incorrect people who work with institutionalized patients deal with a phenomenon so common it has a name: tard strength.
I also understand that some autistic children have an unremitting urge to "run away" and can only imagine being a parent needing this type of 24/7 vigilance. This story is really just sad all the way around, in my final analysis.

According to the father and the taxi driver, traffic had been brought to a halt, and it was even a female cop. (from the video of the father)
The father says that if the cop had taken her hand and said, come on sweetie, lets get in the car, she would have been thrilled, because she loves cars.
The cop clearly lacked a number of skills. Logic. Assessing the situation (naked child). Basic people skills. IT was bizzarre, but she clearly made a terrible read of the situation, and had zero reason to taze the kid.
With traffic stopped, and it being a naked child, I don't see how she can argue this was correct. What, was she afraid she might get rabies ? She could have even waited for back up, of someone more competent. The cop thought the child was dissobeying her command. And that has consequences. Even if it was some drugged out child(apparently how the cop read it), Why ?
her responsiveness to the cop was probably indistinguishable from someone on crack
Naked, unarmed crackheads shouldn't be tased either.
In fact, there is nothing a taser can do that a net gun can't do just as effectively without harming the person.

Actually No, the tasering officer was a Woman!
Actually No, the tasering officer was a Woman!
I'm stunned. Well, in the meanwhile, it has come to light that the 11-year old was a "big girl", and possibly mistaken for a grown woman.
Anyway, more details are coming in. Still waiting for a complete story.

And it would be OK to tase and clearly unarmed, non-violent, naked woman? Is this Saudi Arabia?

Well.... not exactly.
