Let me summarize (from memory, please excuse an errors) the WSJ article that is linked in the post item. Insurance may be three times more expensive reads the headline. The Journal actually has standards so they break down what that means. A catastrophic plan ($5k deductible, 50% of costs) runs $63 for a healthy (no pre-existing conditions, don't forget anything on your application) forty year old male. A "bronze Obamacare" plan will run slightly less than $200 per month for the same guy. No more cheap-o plan in 2014; pay up! Apples and oranges, but at least they are up front about it. It's a legitimate analysis and the reader can then make up their own mind about whether the tradeoffs are worth it.
