My basement is already full of food stocked during the last govt shut down, and Haley's Comet, Y2K, and some gloom & doom story I read me on the interwebs.
I've got a 2 years supply of ammo (I live in Utah, hence the 2 year supply) and I'm going to illuminate and threaten to attack anyone or anything that dares to come into my yard. That'll teach 'em.
Even the deer won't come through my yard. The only thing I have to worry about is the furloughed govt workers who are hungry enough to eat 25 year old food.

My dear readers this government shutdown is just the high winds and rains before a terrible Katrina-like storm that will hit when the US budget deficit is not raised and we default on our bonds.
If you have the money I strongly advise you to buy a couple of months of food for the house, draw at least $3,000 out of the bank and hide it in your house, and convert all of your liquid savings to Swiss Francs.
