The “wealth effect” was held up by the Bernanke Fed as a pretext for printing money and creating asset bubbles. As prices were ballooning, those who owned the assets would feel wealthier and spend some of their gains, the theory went.

The democrats really, really hate the poor. They mask it by claiming to only hate the poor white trash christians, and as they are the pc police, they've dictated that hating on grounds of religion and race is ok so long as you specify white christians.

The truth is, these good school gtood neighborhood democrats despise the poor in general. Its not randomness that dictates that 100% of the loud mouth dem voters that hate white christians, and claim to want to help poor dark skinned folk (even though many are christians), don't ever live within a ten mile radius of any non whites

Whereas the republicans and libertarians LOVE the poor. They love the poor so much they want more and more of them, at least as long as they keep to the other side of the gates.

Charles Hugh Smith talked about renters getting fucked by this asset pumping today:
"The Status Quo views real estate bubbles as a "good thing……..
What few seem to realize (or discuss) is how rising home prices push rents higher. This is an entirely pernicious effect, as renters aren't getting any more "home" for the higher rent--they're paying more money for the same shelter."

Sucking dry what discretionary income they have left after decades of declining wages.

It takes a special kind of brainwashed retard to view rising housing costs as a good thing. They make us all poorer

This is getting old

Inflation benefits the rich as they are able to invest ahead of inflation with cheap money.

The FED's mantra has been inflation is good for 100 years. Most of us mutts have been buying this meme for the whole time.

Inflation is not organic to the economy. Come to think of it neither is a central bank. But how many of yous can see this?

If your income is dependent of the price of housing (realtors, loan officers, bank investors, landlords, state revenues) AND you ALREADY own all the property you care to AND have your costs locked in (e.g. prop 13) then sure, the sky's the limit, screw everyone else.

THAT is who likes high housing prices.

Good point. It is usually portrayed that everyone is benefiting from high housing prices.
