Good article, demographics have a lot to do with the economy and local economy.

One of the primary factors in the cost of housing in Calif is government intervention limiting the supply by way of regulations. This is the opposite of the prop 13 meme but it is none the less the primary cause.

Due to Proposition 13, many boomers can continue to live in SoCal and do not have to move to Arizona or Florida.

A lot of places known for their schools will eventually have to shutter them since nobody who has kids can afford to live there. Despite increasing population, elementary enrollment is way down in more "well off" areas

i first noticed the girl doll in the photo. heavy by 1960s standards, but extremely thin for todays southern california standards !!
