A man finds his wife packing. He asks "Where are you going?"
Wife says, "I'm moving to Las Vegas to become a hooker, I hear they get $500 per sex act."
Man starts packing. Woman says, "Where do you think you're going?"
Man says, "I'm going with you. You need somebody to support you. You'll never make it on $1000 a year."
$500 an hour! A clear example of where it's cheaper to buy than rent... Unless you get divorced, perhaps. $500/hour, four hours a week
In Canada, where escorting is legal, it's more like $180-$220/hr. Thus, if you're not always needing it, it can be quite economical vs a divorce.
If I recall correctly, after that "dubious" rape charge against Kobe Bryant was dropped, for a bundle of cash, he'd bought his wife, Vanessa, a $4M diamond ring, so that she wouldn't divorce him.

I'm in the wrong business. To think I've wasted my youth on a STEM education and career when I could be making this kind of money.

Why do you think I'd left for finance?

Prostitution!
A clear example of where it's cheaper to buy than rent... Unless you get divorced, perhaps. $500/hour, four hours a week, over 40 years comes to.... $4,160,000. Still cheaper to marry, but you might not get four hours a week beyond the first few years.
Airbnb let's you rent your wife too?

What do they do for $500 per hour that a wife or girlfriend could not do?
Might be worth it after the first few years.
I love it when tech fails because people just can't handle a good thing.

Wrong question!
Its not "could do" but "would do".

Aha. Now i know.
Airbnb worth $10 billion? That's Hilton territory, for something that didn't exist a decade ago. I guess we see now where some of their money comes from....
With AirBnb, I rented a townhouse in Vancouver, BC for a couple of days when I went there to see a Canucks game. Not only was it reasonably priced, but had more space than hotel room and situated right in the center of a trendy urban neighborhood.
The couple that managed it (I don't think they owned it per se) were accommodating, but completely non-intrusive. I would easily use AirBnB again.

I think it would be bigger than Marriott and Hilton's combined a year or two.
Maybe Realtors chained to the wall in wedding dresses, with lube guns at the ready.

How about this as a new angle on sex tourism: bedbreakfastandpets.com. You rent a place with an animal wearing a garter belt, all doped up on sedatives and sick fucks pay $1000 a night to seduce a goat or a monkey or something and leave the spew and shit all over the walls for the proprietors to clean up for the next client?
I think it would be bigger than Marriott and Hilton's combined a year or two.
I think we both know of at least one PatNetter candidate for the VIP club.

Hookers are using the controversial Airbnb home-sharing Web site to turn prime Manhattan apartments into temporary brothels, The Post has learned.
One escort service is even saving a bundle by renting Airbnb apartments instead of hotel rooms for clients' quickies, says a 21-year-old call girl who works for the illicit business.
“It's more discreet and much cheaper than The Waldorf,” said the sex worker, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“Hotels have doormen and cameras. They ask questions. Apartments are usually buzz-in.”
The prostitute, a buxom brunette who charges up to $500 an hour, said her escort service generally rents an Airbnb apartment in the Financial District or Midtown West for up to a week at a time — then cycles numerous hookers through the place for trysts around-the-clock.
The agency flies under the radar by having its workers secure the apartments through their own Airbnb profiles, then has them pay the rent with prepaid debit cards. The apartments usually cost between $200 and $400 a day.
“[They] probably save $200 to $300 a night by not getting a hotel,” the sex worker said. “It's really good for business.”
One apartment that got turned into an hourly love nest belongs to publicist Jessica Penzari, 29, who rented it out through Airbnb March 21 through 23.
“She told me that she was in the Army and needed a place to hang out before she got shipped out,” Penzari said of her Airbnb “guest.”
“She said she was being deployed that week. She was asking for places to go out with her friends.”
But when a hooker got slashed by a client in the West 43rd Street apartment over the price of his “massage,” Penzari got a call from cops.
When she returned, Penzari was shocked to find telltale remnants including baby wipes and “at least 10 condoms.”
Penzari said Airbnb put her up in the swanky InterContinental hotel in Times Square for two nights — with room-service meals — and also paid to change her door locks, clean her apartment and replace her pillows and other belongings.
Airbnb, which operates in 192 countries, has been plagued by incidents of “guests” using its site for sexual escapades, including an orgy in Chelsea last month that was promoted online as an “XXX FREAK FEST.”
Late last year, a Washington, DC, woman reported that two men who rented her apartment over Airbnb used it for “male-on-male nude massage.”
Airbnb is also under investigation by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for potential violations of a city law that bans apartment sublets for less than a month, as well as evasion of the nearly 15 percent hotel tax.
Airbnb said it was cooperating with the NYPD over the alleged prostitution.
“The entire hospitality industry deals with issues like this, and we have zero tolerance for this activity,” it said.
