Starting in August, my Sister-In Law, Her Fiance & Infant (and old, little boxer)need housing anywhere safe (non-ghetto) in the North, South, East or West Bay area. She will be completing postdoc work at UC Santa Cruz, but only visiting campus periodically. My future brother in-law was a cop for many years, but will be completing his degree as well. So, as you can imagine they are working within a very tight budget and not at all used to CA prices. Budget is under $1,500 and they can consider doing work on the property to make up the difference. Any non-snarky recommendations?
