Sigh, yes American politics has become much less interesting since congress outlawed dueling in DC:

Of course our honorable representatives found other ways to express their discontent:

John L. Magee's illustration of Preston Brooks' attack on Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner. Brooks, a South Carolina congressman who took offence to something Sumner said about Brooks' uncle (also a politician), defended his uncle's honor by caning Sumner in the U.S. Senate. Dueling was illegal in D.C. by then, but the social code that had permitted it persisted - more so in southern than in northern states.

Why is it that other countries know how to run their government, but our two parties can't even reach across the aisle to land a sucker punch? I would pay to see John Boehner and Harry Reid go three rounds. Sure Boehner's the bigger guy, but Reid has that angry old man strength.
Or what about Sarah Palin and Nancy Pelosi mud wrestling? Finally something on CSPAN worth watching.
I humbly submit that we replace the filibuster with all-out brawls in the Thunderdome. This is how civilized societies settle their disputes. Our democracy deserves no less.
