I recently watched 3 movies on Netflix that are considered to be in the same category. Thought I'd share my opinion.
Mongol: Awesome visual element, but you have to accept reading subtitles unless you speak the Mongol language. The end was a bit weak IMHO, but the trip getting there was worth it.
Ironclad: Not worth it. Weak plot, okay acting, weak historical compliance, weak tactical compliance and more gore than necessary. If you've got time to kill, it will accomplish it.
The Eagle: Interesting plot, main character a bit obvious, historical compliance decent, strong character motivation and understandability overall, and on the whole enjoyable. The end has the usual problem of having the soldiers fight as individuals when Romans really fought in tight cohesion. best of the bunch.
